About the Role: The Bell Captain plays a vital role in enhancing the overall guest experience, serving as the first and last point of contact during arrivals and departures. This position requires a warm and professional demeanor to make guests feel welcomed and valued, anticipating their needs before they arise. The Bell Captain is responsible for managing the bell staff and ensuring the seamless handling of guest luggage and transportation needs. Key duties involve assisting guests with vehicle entry and exit, greeting guests warmly, and carrying out personalized guest recognition, particularly for returning VIP guests.

In addition to providing physical assistance, the Bell Captain acts as an ambassador for the hotel, sharing information about property amenities, services, and surrounding local attractions, thereby enriching the guest's stay. This role requires excellent communication skills to manage guest requests and resolve issues effectively in cooperation with other hotel departments, such as the Front Office Supervisor and Manager on Duty. Maintaining a clean and organized lobby, bell closet, and workspace, as well as keeping department equipment in good condition, is also essential to uphold the hotel’s standards.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of hospitality experience, specifically in bellman or guest services roles, and demonstrate a professional appearance suited for a luxury environment. The Bell Captain will also participate in special projects and perform additional duties as assigned to support the overall operations of the hotel. Job Duties

  • Assist guests/ visitors in and out of vehicles, including assisting guests with loading/unloading luggage
  • Greet all guests in the lobby in a warm and professional manner, make them feel welcome and anticipate their needs before they arise
  • Open doors and assist guests/ visitors entering and leaving property
  • Recognize all returning and VIP guests, and welcome them back
  • Be aware of daily hotel activities, group and VIP arrivals
  • Assist guests with their luggage and acknowledge them by name
  • Inform guests of property amenities, services, and hours of operation, and local areas of interest and activities
  • Identify and explain room features to guests (e.g., use of room key, mini-bar, ice and vending areas, in-room safe, valet laundry services)
  • Communicate special guest requests to the Front Office Supervisor, Front Desk Manager or Manager on Duty
  • Ensure the lobby, bell closet and work areas as well as departmental equipment are clean and presentable at all times
  • Offer assistance to all guests and provide them with information requested and directions, escorting the guest whenever possible
  • Perform additional duties and projects as assigned
