The Bell/Shuttle position at Renaissance Des Moines Savery is a critical role that directly impacts guest satisfaction and the overall hotel experience. This job requires a highly skilled individual who excels in multitasking and demonstrates exceptional hospitality and guest service skills. The ideal candidate will be courteous, professional, and proactive, with the ability to manage various responsibilities seamlessly. The role involves escorting guests to their rooms, assisting with luggage, and inspecting guest rooms to ensure they meet quality standards and are fully stocked with supplies. Additionally, this individual will explain in-room features such as the radio, television, and in-room movie system, providing guests with comprehensive information about the hotel services, local points of interest, and entertainment options.
Further responsibilities include delivering messages, running errands, transporting guests using the hotel van while adhering to property requirements, and maintaining the cleanliness and operational readiness of the vehicle. This role also involves meticulous record-keeping, including mileage, trip details, and guest service calls. The Bell/Shuttle person will be instrumental in delivering packages, setting up sample rooms, and promptly addressing guest requests, complaints, or questions with professionalism and efficiency.
This position demands physical capabilities such as lifting up to 50 pounds, pushing, bending, stooping, and other manual tasks. Ideal candidates will have comprehensive knowledge of hotel operations and relevant health, safety, and legal regulations. CPR training is mandatory, with first aid training considered a plus, and additional language skills are preferred to enhance guest communication. Job Requirements

Job Qualifications
- High school education or equivalent
- Comprehensive knowledge of hotel departments and functions
- Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local health, safety, and legal regulations
- Mathematical and computer skills
- CPR training required
- First aid training preferred
- Additional language ability preferred
- Relevant training and experience in hospitality or customer service
Job Duties
- Escort incoming guests to rooms
- Assist guests with luggage
- Inspect guest room to ensure that it is in order and that supplies are adequate
- Explain features of room such as operation of radio, television, in-room movie system
- Offer information pertaining to available hotel services, points of interest, and entertainment attractions
- Deliver messages and run errands
- Transport guests in hotel van within property requirements
- Maintain cleanliness of both interior and exterior of van
- Maintain all mileage records on a daily basis
- Report all trips to front desk including length of drive and time spent
- Keep record of calls for service
- Deliver packages, suitcases, and trunks
- Set up sample rooms
- Respond to and resolve guest requests, complaints, or questions in a courteous and timely manner
