Job Description

The Ritz-Carlton New York NoMad is part of the prestigious Ritz-Carlton brand, renowned worldwide for setting the gold standard in luxury hospitality. At The Ritz-Carlton New York NoMad, the role offered is a full-time non-management position in the Rooms and Guest Services Operations category. The pay range is between $21.50 and $28.67 per hour, and the position is tip eligible, providing additional earning opportunities. This position also includes a training period with a preferred pay rate of $43.00 to $50.58 per hour, anticipated to occur from May to mid-June. The role demands a high degree of customer service skill and physical stamina, as it involves direct interaction with guests and handling luggage.

This role is fundamentally about ensuring that every guest receives attentive, courteous, and efficient service from arrival to departure. You will be the friendly, professional face greeting guests, assisting them with their luggage, escorting them to their rooms, and providing information about the hotel’s amenities, services, and nearby attractions. The position requires a good understanding of the hotel’s facilities, including room features such as keys, minibars, in-room safes, ice machines, laundry services, and vending areas, to assist guests effectively.

In addition to guest interaction, you will assist in the logistical aspects of guest arrivals and departures, including helping them in and out of vehicles, arranging transportation such as taxis or shuttle services, and managing parking procedures. The position demands physical capabilities such as lifting and moving luggage up to 75 pounds, standing or walking for long periods, and navigating a variety of walking surfaces including steps and ramps.

Job Duties

  • Greet and escort guests to their rooms
  • open doors and assist guests and visitors entering and leaving the property
  • inform guests about property amenities, services, operating hours, local areas of interest and activities
  • identify and explain room functionalities such as room keys, minibar, ice machines, in-room safe, and laundry services
  • carry guest luggage to and from rooms or designated bell area
  • assist in storing and retrieving luggage
  • help guests and visitors enter and exit vehicles including loading and unloading luggage
  • arrange transportation such as taxis or shuttle services for guests and visitors and note transportation requests in advance
  • communicate parking procedures to guests and visitors
  • comply with all company safety policies and procedures
  • report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries
  • maintain a clean and professional uniform and personal appearance
  • protect company information and property confidentiality
  • support coworkers with dignity and respect and contribute to team goals
  • meet quality assurance standards
  • move, lift, transport, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than 50 pounds independently
  • assist moving objects weighing more than 75 pounds
  • stand, sit, or walk for extended periods or entire shifts
  • move at a speed required to respond to work situations

  • reach above head and below knees including bending, twisting, dragging, and stooping
  • move across inclined, uneven or slippery surfaces and stairs

  • stay alert to the possible presence of undesirable persons on the property
