Job Description

ABS Kids is a dedicated organization specializing in providing support and therapy to children with autism spectrum disorder and their families. Operating with a heartfelt mission, ABS Kids focuses on creating meaningful impact through its services by empowering children to develop essential life skills, fostering a culture of diversity and inclusion, and encouraging a collaborative work environment where employees thrive. ABS Kids is recognized for its commitment to equal employment opportunities and its inclusive culture which values diverse backgrounds and experiences. The organization is deeply invested in the professional growth and well-being of its staff, offering extensive support and development opportunities while maintaining a clear mission to improve children’s lives through applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapy and personalized care.

The role available at ABS Kids is that of a Behavior Technician, an entry-level to seasoned position ideal for those passionate about working with children and applying ABA therapy techniques. This position offers variable part-time shifts catering to a broad range of availability during weekdays. The Behavior Technician works directly with children with autism spectrum disorder, delivering one-on-one therapeutic support that uses play and patience to teach real-life skills such as motor skills, personal hygiene, daily living activities, potty training, and social and emotional development. The position emphasizes hands-on involvement, requiring the technician to move actively, often getting up and down off the floor to engage with the child. Importantly, this role also includes data collection responsibilities, where the technician tracks client progress and behavioral changes using specific software.

This role is well suited to individuals with experience working with children or adults with special needs, including those with backgrounds in nannying, caregiving, education, social work, or psychology. The company offers an appealing wage starting between $19.50 and $24.00 per hour, with increases for Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification. Even those new to the field have an accessible pathway as ABS Kids provides paid RBT certification training on the job, making it an excellent opportunity for career growth in behavioral health. Extra incentives such as bonus pay for bilingual speakers and a generous bonus program based on experience enhance the compensation package.

ABS Kids values candidates who demonstrate compassion, energy, patience, and reliability, alongside strong communication and tech skills to manage data collection requirements. The company’s supportive environment includes a comprehensive benefits package—paid drive time, mileage reimbursement, 401(k) with company match, paid time off accrued with hours worked, free safety training, employee assistance programs offering free counseling and financial advice, and continuing education opportunities. ABS Kids fosters a vibrant, connected workplace with virtual and local events that help staff build meaningful relationships with colleagues nationwide.

Choosing to join ABS Kids means becoming part of a mission-driven organization where you contribute to life-changing successes for children with autism. This position is more than a job; it’s a commitment to making a difference in the community and building a fulfilling career path with clear milestones and rewards. Candidates have the opportunity to advance through the LAUNCH career path, with bonuses, promotions, and referral programs supporting professional development. If you have a passion for helping children and are eager to grow your skills in a nurturing, dynamic setting, ABS Kids offers a rewarding, stable, and purpose-filled career journey.
