Job Description
ABS Kids is a renowned organization dedicated to making a profound difference in the lives of children with autism spectrum disorder and their families. With a mission rooted deeply in compassion and commitment, ABS Kids focuses on delivering high-quality ABA therapy and support services that foster growth and developmental milestones in children. The company values diversity, inclusion, and equitable employment opportunities, ensuring a work culture where every individual is respected and empowered. ABS Kids is known for its vibrant and supportive environment, emphasizing the collective impact of every team member’s contributions towards the shared goal of creating brighter futures for children across communities. As a leader in behavioral health services, the company offers innovative training programs, continuous career development paths, and a comprehensive benefits package to attract and retain passionate professionals who are eager to make a positive impact.
The Behavior Technician role at ABS Kids presents an exceptional opportunity for individuals passionate about helping children develop essential life skills through applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapy methods. This position is available in variable part-time shifts from entry-level technicians to seasoned Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs), accommodating a range of schedules including 8:00am-5:00pm, 9:00am-6:00pm, 12:00pm-7:00pm, and 3:00pm-7:00pm Monday through Friday. The remuneration ranges between $18.50 to $23.00 per hour with increases for those who obtain RBT certification, which ABS Kids supports by offering paid certification training on the job. In addition to the hourly wage, eligible candidates can earn a bonus of $500 to $1000 depending on experience, along with mileage reimbursement and paid drive time.
This role requires individuals who are compassionate, patient, and energetic, capable of using play and ABA therapy techniques to help children with autism develop critical motor, social-emotional, personal hygiene, and daily living skills. The position demands practical involvement in both collecting and recording behavioral data to track client progress accurately and providing one-on-one support in a safe and respectful environment. ABS Kids prioritizes continuous education and professional growth, offering free CPR and safety training, ongoing continuing education opportunities, and an employee assistance program that includes counseling, mental health resources, and financial advice. Technological proficiency is essential as Behavior Technicians will use data collection software along with basic office software.
Working at ABS Kids is more than just a job; it is a chance to build meaningful relationships with children and families while working along a clear career path known as the LAUNCH program, which includes rewards, bonuses, and promotions. The company fosters a community through virtual connections with colleagues nationwide and organizes local events to enrich employee engagement. Candidates with prior experience in roles such as nanny, paraprofessional, teacher, CNA, personal attendant, childcare worker, babysitter, caregiver, aide, or those who have studied psychology, social work, or sociology will find their backgrounds particularly relevant.
