Job Description
ABS Kids is a dedicated organization committed to creating a brighter future for children with autism and their families. At ABS Kids, the team is energized by the transformative "wow moments" they witness when clients achieve meaningful milestones. These moments inspire and drive the mission to provide compassionate and effective Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy tailored to the unique needs of every child and family. Rooted in a culture of inclusion, ABS Kids embraces diversity and fosters a supportive environment where employees from all backgrounds feel valued and empowered. They are proud to uphold equal employment opportunities and a non-discriminatory workplace, ensuring that every team member can thrive and contribute meaningfully to their shared purpose.
This role is for enthusiastic and compassionate individuals interested in making a real difference as Behavior Technicians at ABS Kids. Offering both entry-level and experienced positions including Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs), this opportunity provides flexible part-time shifts designed to accommodate various schedules. With shifts available Monday through Friday during key hours such as 8:00am-5:00pm, 9:00am-6:00pm, 12:00pm-7:00pm, and 3:00pm-7:00pm, candidates can choose shifts that best match their availability.
The position offers competitive pay ranging from $18.50 to $23.00 per hour with an increase for those achieving RBT certification. ABS Kids goes a step further by providing paid RBT certification training on the job, so no prior experience is necessary. Additional benefits include paid drive time and mileage reimbursement, a 401(k) plan with company match, and paid time off accrued for every hour worked. There are also performance bonuses, ranging from $500 to $1000 based on experience, serving as further incentive.
Successful candidates will engage directly with children on the autism spectrum, employing play, patience, and ABA therapy techniques to teach critical real-life skills. Technicians will collect and document data on client behaviors and progress while maintaining a safe, respectful environment. The role demands physical activity such as frequent movement and getting up and down from the floor, underscoring the dynamic nature of the work.
No previous experience with ABA therapy is required; individuals with backgrounds such as nannying, paraprofessional roles, teaching, caregiving, or experience in psychology, social work, or sociology disciplines are highly encouraged to apply as they are already well positioned for this career path. The company supports career growth through its LAUNCH career path program, offering clear milestones, rewards, bonuses, and promotions. Employees also have access to free continuing education, CPR and safety training, an employee assistance program featuring financial advice and counseling support, and opportunities to connect virtually and locally with colleagues nationwide.
This role represents more than a job; it is an essential opportunity to positively impact the lives of children while developing transferable skills for future career advancements in behavioral health and related fields. ABS Kids warmly welcomes applicants with a heart for helping kids, a calm and steady presence, and eagerness to play and engage meaningfully. Reliable transportation, tech-savviness, and experience working with children or adults with special needs for at least six months are important to succeed in this rewarding position. Join ABS Kids in advancing their mission where every "wow moment" counts, and help shape a hopeful tomorrow for children and families.
