Job Description
ABS Kids is a dedicated organization committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of children with autism and their families. Rooted in a passion to create impactful 'wow moments,' ABS Kids focuses on providing high-quality behavior therapy and support that fosters growth and development. The company prides itself on embracing diversity and cultivating an inclusive work culture where every employee's unique story and background are valued. ABS Kids operates under a strong ethical framework that supports equal employment opportunities for all, regardless of race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, gender identity, or Veteran status.
This opportunity at ABS Kids is for individuals passionate about supporting children with autism spectrum disorder through Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy. The role primarily involves working as a Behavior Technician, with part-time shifts available for entry-level candidates up to seasoned Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs). The employment is variable part-time with flexible schedules including Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 7:00pm across different shifts such as 8:00am-5:00pm, 9:00am-6:00pm, 12:00pm-7:00pm, and 3:00pm-7:00pm. ABS Kids offers a starting hourly wage between $20.00 and $24.50, with additional pay increases upon obtaining RBT certification.
Importantly, ABS Kids supports its staff by providing paid RBT certification and training on the job, with no previous experience required. Candidates with backgrounds in childcare, education, or related fields such as psychology, social work, or sociology will find themselves well-prepared for this role, though the company welcomes all who have a heart for helping kids. Bilingual individuals, particularly those fluent in English and Spanish, can earn an additional premium pay of $1.00 per hour on sessions requiring bilingual capabilities.
Working as a Behavior Technician at ABS Kids means making a tangible difference in children’s lives by using ABA therapy techniques to teach essential daily living skills, social and emotional regulation, motor skills, personal hygiene, and potty training. The role requires patience, energy, and the ability to engage with clients through play while collecting and recording data on their progress. It demands physical activity, including getting up and down from the floor and moving quickly to support clients effectively.
Beyond compensation, ABS Kids emphasizes career development through its LAUNCH career path, offering clear milestones, promotions, and bonuses. The company also provides benefits such as paid drive time, mileage reimbursement, 401(k) with company match, paid time off earned for every hour worked, and free continuing education opportunities. Staff also have access to free CPR and safety training, an employee assistance program including financial and counseling support, mental health resources, and virtual and local events to foster connection among colleagues nationally.
Joining ABS Kids is more than a job; it's a commitment to creating brighter futures for children with autism.
