Job Description

ABS Kids is a reputable organization dedicated to providing impactful and compassionate support to children with autism spectrum disorder and their families. With a deep commitment to making a meaningful difference in the lives of children, ABS Kids operates with a mission that celebrates the diverse stories and unique journeys of every individual they serve. The organization fosters an inclusive culture where diversity is not only recognized but embraced, ensuring a welcoming and supportive environment for all employees and clients alike. ABS Kids stands out in the behavioral health field for its dedication to equal employment opportunities, valuing diversity regardless of race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, gender identity, or Veteran status. This inclusive approach empowers every team member to thrive and contribute to the shared mission.

The role of a Behavior Technician at ABS Kids is designed for individuals passionate about helping children grow and develop essential life skills using applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapy techniques. This position offers variable part-time shifts, making it an ideal opportunity for a wide range of candidates, from entry-level behavior technicians to experienced Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs). The company supports career growth by offering paid RBT certification and training on the job, ensuring that even candidates without prior experience can prepare for certification and advance within the organization. Compensation ranges from $19.50 to $24.00 per hour, with additional increases for RBT-certified staff and premium pay for bilingual professionals. The role involves delivering one-on-one ABA therapy support to children with autism, utilizing patience, play, and structured interventions to teach practical skills such as motor abilities, personal hygiene, social interaction, and daily living activities.

Candidates can expect to engage in meaningful work that positively impacts the lives of children, with responsibilities that include collecting and recording behavioral data, maintaining safe and respectful environments for both clients and staff, and assisting children in developing essential life skills. This role requires physical activity such as frequently getting up and down off the floor and quick movement to engage effectively with clients. ABS Kids also offers a wealth of benefits, including paid drive time and mileage reimbursement, a 401(k) plan with company match, paid time off accrued for every hour worked, and a comprehensive support system including free continuing education, CPR and safety training, an employee assistance program offering financial advice and counseling, and opportunities to connect with colleagues both virtually and through local events.

Candidates with backgrounds in childcare, education, nursing assistance, social work, psychology, or related fields are particularly encouraged to apply. The organization values traits such as a calm and steady presence, eagerness to play, and a heartfelt commitment to helping children. Reliable transportation and basic tech savvy skills are essential for managing client appointments and data collection software. Fluency in both Spanish and English is strongly preferred and rewarded with additional compensation when assigned to bilingual-required client sessions. ABS Kids provides a unique, supportive workplace where every day brings the chance to create impactful "wow moments" that reflect the progress and growth of the children served. This is more than just a job; it is a rewarding career path filled with opportunities for personal and professional development in the behavioral health field.
