Job Description
ABS Kids is a dedicated organization focused on providing specialized support and care to children with autism spectrum disorder and their families. With a deep commitment to making a meaningful difference in the lives of children, ABS Kids operates in the behavioral health sector, specializing in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy. This company fosters an inclusive and supportive environment, embracing diversity among its staff and clients alike. ABS Kids stands out not only for its mission-driven approach but also for its commitment to equal employment opportunities and fostering a culture where all people thrive. The organization values the unique stories and backgrounds each person brings and continuously strives for an evolving understanding of diversity and inclusion.
This job opportunity is for part-time Behavior Technicians ranging from entry-level candidates to seasoned Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs). The role offers variable shifts Monday through Friday, with available hours including 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, 12:00 pm to 7:00 pm, or 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm, ensuring flexibility to suit different schedules. The position includes a competitive hourly wage of $18.50 to $23.00, with increases for those who hold RBT certification. The company provides paid RBT certification training, making this an excellent opportunity for people entering the field without prior experience to receive hands-on mentoring and education while earning. Additional compensation includes bonuses ranging from $500 to $1000 depending on the candidate's experience level.
In this role, you will be playing an essential part in helping children develop critical life skills through the use of ABA therapy, play, and patience. The technicians collect data on client behavior and progress, provide one-on-one support, and maintain a safe, respectful environment for clients and staff. The work is hands-on and dynamic, requiring physical activity that involves getting down to the floor and moving quickly. It blends compassion with practical teaching to build skills in motor function, personal hygiene, daily living, potty training, and social and emotional development. ABS Kids values candidates with at least six months of experience working with children or adults with special needs. However, applicants from backgrounds such as nannying, caregiving, teaching, personal care, or related studies in psychology, social work, or sociology are encouraged to apply.
The organization supports its employees with a comprehensive career path called the LAUNCH program, which includes clear milestones, rewards, promotions, and bonuses. Employees also benefit from referral bonuses, free continuing education, CPR and safety training at no cost, and an employee assistance program offering free financial advice, counseling support, and mental health resources. There are virtual office connections and local events to foster community among staff nationwide. The skills gained in this role are highly transferable to other careers in behavioral health and related fields. Beyond just a job, ABS Kids offers a meaningful career opportunity where employees can see the impact of their work in the "wow" moments of children's progress and families' improved quality of life.
