Job Description
ABS Kids is a dedicated organization committed to improving the lives of children with autism and their families through compassionate care and evidence-based therapy. As a company, ABS Kids emphasizes the importance of diversity, equality, and creating an inclusive environment where all employees are valued and empowered. Their work is motivated by the impactful and inspiring "wow moments" experienced while helping children reach significant developmental milestones. With a mission to foster a culture where every individual’s unique story is heard and celebrated, ABS Kids continuously strives to learn and grow from the diverse perspectives of its team members. The organization offers equal employment opportunities without discrimination based on race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, gender identity, or Veteran status. This commitment creates a supportive environment for both employees and the families they serve, reinforcing ABS Kids as a leader in behavioral health support for children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
The role available is tailored for Behavior Technicians, including entry-level candidates and Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs), offering part-time shifts with flexible hours to suit individual availability. Compensation ranges from $18.50 to $23.00 per hour, with increases for candidates holding RBT certification. In addition to hourly wages, candidates can receive bonuses ranging from $500 to $1000 depending on experience. ABS Kids supports career growth by providing paid RBT certification and training on the job, making it an ideal opportunity for those new to the field or seeking to enhance their qualifications. Paid drive time and mileage reimbursement are provided, along with a 401(k) plan that includes company matching and paid time off earned for every hour worked.
Behavior Technicians at ABS Kids play a vital role in making a positive difference in the lives of children with ASD. They engage children through play, patience, and applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapy to teach and reinforce real-life skills. These skills include motor development, personal hygiene, daily living activities, potty training, and social and emotional growth. Technicians collect and record data on client behaviors and progress to inform ongoing therapy plans. The role requires maintaining a safe and respectful environment for both clients and staff, which promotes effective learning and positive interactions. Candidates should be prepared to be physically active, able to get up and down from the floor frequently, and move quickly as needed to support client activities.
Experience working with children or adults with special needs is preferred, though ABS Kids welcomes those without prior experience by providing comprehensive training and support. Candidates from backgrounds such as nannying, paraprofessional roles, teaching, caregiving, or those who have studied psychology, social work, or sociology are well-suited for this position. The organization values applicants with reliable transportation, tech savviness to learn data collection and office software, and a heartfelt commitment to helping children. Beyond immediate job duties, ABS Kids offers a supportive working environment with a clear career path featuring milestones, bonuses, and promotions. Additional perks include referral bonuses, free continuing education opportunities, free CPR and safety training, employee assistance programs, virtual networking with colleagues nationwide, and fun local events. This role not only offers competitive pay and benefits but also a meaningful opportunity to influence the future of children and their families positively.
