Job Description

ABS Kids is a renowned organization dedicated to providing innovative and compassionate care for children with autism and their families. The company emphasizes a culture of inclusion, diversity, and support, committed to fostering environments where all individuals can thrive. ABS Kids empowers its staff by celebrating diverse backgrounds and stories while maintaining a mission that fuels its purpose: enhancing the lives of children through early behavioral interventions. The organization operates in the healthcare and education sector, specializing in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy, a proven technique to help children develop essential life skills and improve social, emotional, and cognitive functions. ABS Kids is an employer that champions equal employment opportunities, valuing individuals regardless of race, color, religion, age, gender identity, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic. They provide a supportive working environment that includes free continuing education opportunities, comprehensive employee assistance programs, and a dedicated career path with clear milestones for growth and rewarding achievements.

This position at ABS Kids is for Behavior Technicians and Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) who work directly with children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). These professionals use play, patience, and ABA therapy techniques to teach real-life skills and support developmental progress. The role offers variable part-time shifts to accommodate different schedules, opening the door to candidates ranging from entry-level technicians to experienced RBTs. The company offers competitive hourly wages, ranging from $20.00 to $24.50, with additional increases for RBT certification and premium pay for bilingual candidates. Importantly, no prior experience is required as ABS Kids provides paid RBT certification and on-the-job training. The role also includes paid drive time and mileage reimbursement, reflecting a commitment to employee convenience and satisfaction.

Behavior Technicians at ABS Kids will be instrumental in making a meaningful difference in the lives of children. Responsibilities include collecting and recording data on client behavior and progress, providing one-on-one support in client homes and other settings, and maintaining a safe and respectful environment for clients and staff. They help children develop essential skills such as motor coordination, personal hygiene, social and emotional regulation, daily living tasks, and potty training. This role demands physical activity, requiring technicians to move quickly and often get up and down from the floor to engage with the children effectively.

ABS Kids also invests heavily in its staff through a variety of support mechanisms, including a unique LAUNCH career path that offers clear milestones, bonuses, and promotions. Employees benefit from a referral bonus program, free CPR and safety training, and access to mental health and financial support resources through an employee assistance program. There are also opportunities to connect virtually with colleagues across the nation and participate in local events, creating a vibrant and collaborative work community.

This job is more than a position; it is a chance to contribute to a brighter future for children and their families while developing transferable skills valuable in the behavioral health field. Candidates who have worked in related fields, such as nannying, teaching, caregiving, or studied subjects like psychology and social work, will find their experience highly relevant. Those fluent in Spanish and English are strongly preferred and can earn additional premium pay for bilingual client sessions. ABS Kids invites compassionate, patient, and energetic individuals to join them in this rewarding and impactful role.
