Job Description
ABS Kids is a dedicated organization committed to making a profound impact on the lives of children with autism and their families. With a heartfelt mission to create brighter futures, ABS Kids offers specialized Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy and support services aimed at empowering children to develop real-life skills in a nurturing and respectful environment. The organization prides itself on a culture that celebrates diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunities, ensuring that every individual feels heard and valued within the workplace. ABS Kids embraces a team-oriented approach where employees are encouraged to grow professionally through comprehensive training and career development programs, including paid certification and continuing education.
This job opportunity is ideal for compassionate individuals who want to make a meaningful difference while building a fulfilling career in behavioral health. Available roles range from entry-level Behavior Technicians to seasoned Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs), with part-time variable shifts offered to fit different schedules perfectly. The position provides competitive hourly pay starting at $20.00, with increases based on certification and performance. Bilingual candidates proficient in Spanish and English can earn an additional premium, highlighting the organization's commitment to serving diverse communities effectively.
Selected candidates will receive extensive support including paid RBT certification training, paid drive time and mileage reimbursement, and eligibility for a 401(k) retirement plan with a company match. Paid time off is accrued for every hour worked, enabling employees to maintain a healthy work-life balance. Referral bonuses, a clear career path with milestones, free CPR and safety training, and an employee assistance program with mental health and financial counseling are also part of the comprehensive employee benefits.
As a Behavior Technician with ABS Kids, your role focuses on delivering one-on-one support and ABA therapy to children with autism spectrum disorder. You'll use play, patience, and evidence-based techniques to teach motor skills, personal hygiene, daily living activities, potty training, and social-emotional skills. Your responsibilities will also include collecting and recording data on client behavior and progress, ensuring a safe and respectful environment, supporting children in developing essential life skills, and demonstrating physical agility to engage actively with clients.
Candidates do not require prior experience as ABS Kids provides thorough on-the-job training. Experience working with children or adults with special needs in roles such as nanny, teacher, caregiver, or paraprofessional is advantageous but not mandatory. A passion for helping children, calm demeanor, reliability, technological proficiency with data collection software, and reliable transportation are essential for success. Fluent Spanish-English bilingualism is highly preferred to meet the needs of the communities served.
Joining ABS Kids means becoming part of a supportive, diverse community where your work has direct, tangible impact. Employees are encouraged to participate in virtual office events, local gatherings with colleagues, and continuous learning initiatives designed to build transferable skills for future advancement in the behavioral health field. This opportunity is not just a job but a chance to contribute to life-changing moments and to grow professionally in a rewarding and mission-driven environment. Apply today to make a difference in the lives of children and families waiting for your support.
