Job Description

ABS Kids is a dedicated organization specializing in providing behavioral health services to children with autism and their families in California. The company is renowned for its compassionate approach and commitment to creating positive, lasting impacts through individualized care. ABS Kids operates with a mission to empower children by fostering their development and enhancing their quality of life using evidence-based methods tailored to each child's unique needs. The company prides itself on its inclusive culture, celebrating diverse backgrounds and promoting a supportive environment where employees and clients alike can thrive.

ABS Kids is currently seeking compassionate, energetic professionals to join their team as Behavioral Technicians. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children with autism spectrum disorder by implementing individualized behavior plans designed by Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs). Working closely with BCBAs, Behavioral Technicians collect and record data on client behaviors and progress, provide one-on-one support, and help children develop essential life skills such as motor skills, personal hygiene, daily living, potty training, and social-emotional skills. The position requires physical activity, including frequent movement such as getting up and down off the floor quickly, reflecting the hands-on nature of the job.

The employment type is typically full-time or part-time with competitive hourly wages ranging from $20.00 to $24.50 per hour, depending on experience and certification such as Registered Behavior Technician (RBT). ABS Kids also offers a $500 bonus after 90 days of employment and an additional $500 bonus for candidates with six or more months of experience working with kids or adults with special needs in California. Employees are compensated for paid drive time and mileage, showcasing the company’s commitment to valuing the time and effort spent in transit between client locations.

Beyond monetary benefits, ABS Kids offers numerous supportive measures including paid training, paid time off earned for every hour worked, and a 401(k) plan with company match to secure employees’ financial future. The company also provides a structured career path known as the LAUNCH program that sets clear milestones for advancement, rewards, and bonuses. Employees are encouraged to take advantage of free continuing education and CPR and safety training, which helps to build transferable skills valuable in behavior health and related fields. Additional support includes an employee assistance program offering free financial advice, counseling support, and mental health resources. ABS Kids maintains a virtual office connection linking hundreds of colleagues nationwide and organizes fun local events to foster a sense of community and teamwork.

Working at ABS Kids means being part of a larger family committed to creating wow moments that inspire and motivate through every milestone achieved with children and their families. The company’s culture is rooted in respect, diversity, and equality, ensuring all employees feel valued and heard, no matter their background or identity. By joining ABS Kids, you will not only enhance your professional skills but also contribute directly to the well-being and development of children with special needs, becoming a vital part of their journey towards independence and growth.
