Job Description

ABS Kids is a dedicated and compassionate organization focused on making a meaningful difference in the lives of children with autism and their families. Founded with a mission to empower children through individualized behavior interventions and support, ABS Kids operates as a specialized healthcare provider with expertise in applied behavior analysis (ABA). The company values diversity and inclusivity, fostering an environment where all staff and clients can thrive regardless of their backgrounds. They are committed to equal employment opportunities and continuously strive to create a workplace where diverse stories are heard and celebrated. ABS Kids recognizes the transformational 'wow moments' in every child's progress, which fuels their passion and dedication to this critical work.

ABS Kids is currently seeking enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join their team as Behavior Technicians. This is a rewarding full-time position ideally suited for those with at least six months of experience working with children or adults with special needs in California. The role involves direct one-on-one interaction with clients diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, implementing personalized behavior plans and protocols designed and supervised by Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs). The primary responsibility is to support the child's development of essential life skills, such as motor skills, daily living, personal hygiene, potty training, and social-emotional growth. Behavior Technicians at ABS Kids are encouraged to learn continuously, apply evidence-based methods scientifically proven to be effective, and deliver the best quality care.

Compensation is competitive, with hourly wages ranging from $20.00 to $24.50 based on experience and certifications. Employees may also receive a $500 bonus after 90 days of employment, and additional pay increases are given for those who obtain Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification. ABS Kids offers numerous benefits, including paid drive time and mileage reimbursement for travel to client homes, paid training, accrued paid time off for every hour worked, 401(k) plans with company match, and free continuing education opportunities. New employees are supported through a comprehensive LAUNCH career path program that provides clear milestones, rewards, promotions, and referral bonuses to foster professional growth and job satisfaction.

Working at ABS Kids means joining a supportive community that provides free CPR and safety training, employee assistance programs with financial advice, counseling, and mental health resources. Behavior Technicians also have access to virtual office connections with colleagues nationwide and local events that promote camaraderie and professional connection. Candidates must be physically active, willing to get up and down from the floor repeatedly, and able to move quickly to engage effectively with clients.
