Job Description
ABS Kids is a dedicated organization that focuses on making a meaningful difference in the lives of children with autism and their families. The company is deeply committed to empowering children with special needs by providing evidence-based behavioral health services designed to foster development and growth. ABS Kids operates with a mission rooted in celebrating diversity, inclusivity, and creating a supportive culture where all employees and clients thrive together. They emphasize the importance of those "wow" moments — the significant milestones children achieve — which feed the spirits of their team and reinforce the impact of their work. The company is an equal opportunity employer, valuing diversity across race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, gender identity, and veteran status.
The role offered by ABS Kids is a rewarding opportunity for individuals passionate about working with children or adults with special needs, specifically within the realm of autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The position centers around implementing individualized behavior plans and protocols designed by Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs), providing one-on-one support, and creating safe, respectful environments for clients. Candidates with at least six months of documented experience in working with kids or adults with special needs are eligible for this role, with a generous $500 bonus offered to those who meet this experience threshold. The offered pay ranges from $18.00 to $20.50 per hour, with an additional $500 bonus after 90 days of employment, and incremental pay increases for Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification.
This role involves more than just caregiving; it requires active participation in data collection related to client behavior and progress, enabling ongoing assessment and refinement of therapeutic interventions. The position calls for energetic, creative, and dependable individuals who can maintain physical activity such as getting up and down off the floor and moving quickly to meet client needs. The company offers paid drive time and mileage reimbursement to accommodate travel to client homes and other locations, making reliable transportation a necessity.
Additional benefits include paid training, paid time off accrued for every hour worked, and a 401(k) plan with a company match. ABS Kids supports career development through its LAUNCH career path, which provides clear milestones, bonuses, and promotion opportunities. Employees gain access to free continuing education, CPR and safety training, and a comprehensive employee assistance program offering financial advice, counseling support, and mental health resources. The company fosters community through virtual connections with colleagues nationwide and local events. Working at ABS Kids allows staff to learn transferable skills applicable to careers in behavioral health, underscoring the organization's commitment to professional growth alongside client impact.
