As a Behavior Specialist working in a school environment, you will play a vital part in supporting students with special education needs, including mild, moderate, and severe levels of support. This position highlights the natural transferability of skills gained from behavioral support roles—building rapport, implementing behavior intervention plans, de-escalating challenging behaviors, facilitating social interactions, and applying therapeutic and behavioral strategies.

The role offers the advantage of predictable school-day hours, typically Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to between 3:00 and 4:30 PM, without weekend work, making it an excellent opportunity for those seeking a structured work environment with consistent schedules. Your primary responsibilities will center on assisting licensed classroom staff to create and maintain learning environments conducive to student success. You will work closely with students either individually or in small groups, helping them achieve their Individualized Education Plan (IEP) goals by adhering to established behavioral plans and supporting academic and social development. The position also involves responding to student crises, using a variety of instructional and behavioral strategies to facilitate positive outcomes.
