The role of Beer Server at Oak View Group is a seasonal opportunity from April 6th, 2026, through May 31st, 2026, offering an hourly wage of $17.27 plus tips. The Beer Server plays a vital role during the LA County Fair by providing efficient, professional, and friendly beer service in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. This position requires attentiveness to customer needs, responsible handling of alcoholic beverages, and maintaining a clean, organized service area. Key responsibilities include verifying guest identification to ensure compliance with legal drinking age requirements, managing transactions accurately on a point-of-sale system, and fostering a welcoming atmosphere that enhances guests' experiences. The Beer Server must also ensure adherence to company policies and local, state, and federal regulations governing alcohol service.

In addition to service duties, this role demands teamwork and collaboration, as the Beer Server works closely with other staff members to maintain operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. Tasks also include restocking supplies, setting up and breaking down the beer stand, and completing accurate closing inventory reports. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • two plus years of relevant experience in full-service restaurant or beer serving role
  • valid RBS Alcohol Certificate as mandated by state law
  • valid CA Food Handlers Certificate as mandated by state law
  • ability to meet work schedule demands including availability Thursday through Sunday
  • physical capability to work long hours in a fast-paced event environment
  • legal age to serve and sell alcohol
  • commitment to personal grooming and appearance standards

Job Qualifications

  • Two plus years of experience in full-service restaurant or beer server role in a similar volume environment with knowledge of beer
  • possession of RBS Alcohol Certificate required by state law
  • possession of CA Food Handlers Certificate required by state law
  • pride in personal appearance, including neat and clean clothing, well-groomed hair and personal hygiene
  • solid knowledge of various beers and spirits
  • excellent attendance record
  • ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • knowledge of and ability to follow company policies and procedures
  • availability to work Thursday through Sunday

Job Duties

  • Serve guests beer in a fast-paced environment
  • demonstrate excellence in customer service

  • enter and complete orders on point-of-sale system, handle transactions
  • limit problems related to excessive drinking, discontinue alcohol service when necessary and notify management
