As a Nordstrom Rack team member, your core responsibilities include keeping the sales floor "runway ready" through regular re-merchandising and straightening efforts. You'll assist customers across various transaction platforms such as in-store, online, and mobile, operating point-of-sale systems efficiently while handling merchandise, including bulky and heavy items. Supporting the fitting room experience by greeting and assisting customers, managing returns, and maintaining organization is also a critical part of the role.

In addition to customer service, you will play an integral part in maintaining a clean and clutter-free environment on the sales floor and in stockrooms. This includes organizing stockrooms, ensuring merchandise accuracy with proper check-in and ticketing, and adhering to operational, merchandise, and asset protection standards. Employees must demonstrate strong technological expertise with all store-based systems and actively promote initiatives such as the Nordstrom Rewards program.

Physical stamina is essential, as this role requires continuous movement over 6 to 8 hours per shift with frequent bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching. Lifting and handling items weighing up to 25 pounds is a common responsibility. Successful team members exhibit clear communication skills, a high level of ownership and accountability, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced retail setting. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous retail or customer service experience preferred
  • Ability to continuously move for 6-8 hours per shift with frequent bending, twisting, squatting, flexing and reaching
  • Capability to lift items weighing up to 25 pounds regularly
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Flexibility to work varied hours including weekends and holidays
  • Must be able to handle physically demanding tasks involved in retail merchandising and customer assistance

Job Duties

  • Work with the team to ensure the salesfloor stays runway ready and is sized and filled in through re-merchandising and straightening throughout the day
  • Assist customers when cashiering with a variety of transactions across different platforms including operating a point-of-sale system, bagging items of all size, handling bulky and heavy items, and ensuring a seamless and friendly experience
  • Create a smooth fitting room experience by greeting and assisting customers and sorting and returning clothing to the floor
  • Create a clean and clutter-free customer experience by sorting and returning clothing to the salesfloor
  • Keep the stockrooms organized and ensure merchandise is properly checked in and accurately ticketed
  • Demonstrate expertise in all technologies used in the store environment
  • Adhere to all operational, merchandise and asset protection standards
  • Promote initiatives like the Nordstrom Rewards program
