Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior experience in food & beverage service
  • responsible beverage service training certificate
  • ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to stand for extended periods
  • positive attitude and team player

Job Qualifications

  • Prior experience in food & beverage service
  • experience in table service & positioning
  • responsible beverage service training certificate
  • CPR certification
  • bilingual Spanish
  • prior experience with P.O.S. system

Job Duties

  • Maintain complete knowledge of dining room layout
  • maintain complete knowledge of all menu items, prices, preparation method/time, ingredients and quality standards of taste, appearance, texture serving temperature, portion size, garnish and method of presentation
  • deliver food in accordance with restaurant standards of service
  • maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment
  • learn and effectively use P.O.S. system and manual systems
  • maintain complete knowledge and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures
  • complete all opening side duties as assigned
  • organize the assigned station and ensure readiness prior to guest arrival
  • review daily specials and maintain awareness of 86’d items throughout the shift
  • make all varieties of coffee in accordance with departmental standards
  • retrieve all food orders from the kitchen and place on trays in accordance with departmental standards
  • retrieve all beverage orders from the bar and place on trays in accordance with departmental standards
  • understand and anticipate guests’ needs and respond promptly
  • acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day and maintain positive guest relations at all times
  • be familiar with all hotel services/features and local attractions/activities
  • handle guest complaints following the four step procedure and ensuring guest satisfaction
  • monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned station and service areas
  • complete closing side duties as assigned
  • legibly document maintenance needs on work orders and submit to manager
  • attend menu training, pre-shifts and other required meetings as scheduled
