Job Description
This position is for a Pool Server at a luxury resort, a role essential to delivering exceptional guest experiences in an outdoor poolside environment. The hiring establishment is a high-end resort known for its upscale amenities and premium service standards. As a luxury resort, the company prides itself on providing an inviting, relaxing, and memorable atmosphere where guests can enjoy first-class food and beverage service while lounging poolside. The resort's outdoor pool area is a vibrant and dynamic setting that demands attentive, friendly, and efficient service professionals capable of working under varying weather conditions such as heat, humidity, and occasional rain. The Pool Server position is a front-of-house service role that is highly customer-focused, requiring strong service fundamentals and the ability to operate seamlessly in a fast-paced, luxury outdoor environment.
The Pool Server is responsible for greeting guests promptly and courteously at their poolside seating areas, including cabanas and loungers, taking accurate food and beverage orders, and providing clear explanations of menu items, daily specials, and featured cocktails. This role emphasizes maintaining a visible and attentive presence throughout the pool area to anticipate guests' needs and respond promptly to ensure a consistently positive experience. Serving food and beverages with accuracy and proper presentation, replenishing drinks, presenting dessert and specialty beverage options, and concluding service with a warm thank you are integral aspects of the position.
In addition to guest service, the Pool Server manages order entry and communication with kitchen and bar teams using the Point of Sale (POS) system to facilitate timely and accurate delivery of orders. The role also includes responsibilities related to outdoor operations, requiring flexibility and adaptability to weather and activity changes around the pool. The Pool Server must be safety-conscious, especially concerning wet surfaces, high temperatures, and pool operations.
The position also entails adherence to established steps of service and company standards, enforcing alcohol service regulations including ID verification and responsible serving practices. Maintaining professionalism and composure during busy periods is crucial to supporting seamless service flow, alongside collaboration with bartenders, server assistants, and management.
Operational readiness is another core responsibility, involving checking cleanliness and organization of assigned sections before, during, and after shifts, performing opening, running, and closing side work, restocking supplies, and general cleaning tasks to uphold health and safety standards. The Pool Server is expected to attend required meetings and training sessions and perform additional duties as assigned to contribute to the overall operations of the pool area.
This role reports directly to the Restaurant General Manager and works closely with various departments such as bartenders, server assistants, culinary, pool operations, and restaurant management. Regular guest interaction is a key part of the position, with a focus on delivering a relaxed yet attentive poolside dining experience. Employment type and salary details are typically in line with resort standards, reflecting a hospitality service position within a luxury outdoor pool environment.
