The position of BDI Delivery Driver at Hy-Vee's BDI department provides a vital role within the company’s operations. This non-exempt role involves delivering products promptly, efficiently, and with a friendly attitude, ensuring that customers receive their orders accurately and on time. Delivery drivers are responsible not only for the safe and timely delivery of merchandise but also for maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the delivery vehicle both inside and out. An essential part of the job involves providing excellent customer service by showing care, patience, and professionalism in every interaction. This role requires the driver to smile, greet customers warmly, and, whenever possible, address them by name to create a more personalized shopping experience. BDI Delivery Drivers at Hy-Vee load and unload delivery vehicles, restock shelves, and collect payments when necessary. The job demands physical stamina as it involves lifting heavy items frequently, as well as navigating various terrains and climbing stairs multiple times a day. Working hours are typically Monday through Friday with occasional Saturday shifts from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Additionally, employees in this role are expected to contribute to maintaining delivery vehicles and may assist in training new team members as needed.
