The Batching/Blending Technician role at Refresco is a critical position within the production line, focusing on the precise preparation and handling of beverage ingredients. Reporting directly to the department manager, the technician is responsible for mixing ingredients according to the company quality procedures and using SAP systems, maintaining filters, and ensuring the timely supply of blended products to the production line. This role demands meticulous attention to quality standards, safety protocols, and efficient production processes to help maximize product recovery and meet customer satisfaction.

Working primarily on the Sunday to Tuesday 4:00 am - 4:00 pm shift and Wednesday 4:00 am - 10:00 am, this position offers a structured yet dynamic work environment within a fast-moving production plant. The technician is expected to adhere strictly to health, safety, and food quality standards such as SQF, FDA regulations, HACCP, GMPs, allergen control, and kosher standards. The function also involves operating forklifts and performing regular sanitation and cleaning duties to maintain production integrity.

This comprehensive role requires a skilled individual capable of deciphering production schedules, programming bulk ingredient delivery systems, and collaboratively working with the quality department to achieve consistent product quality. The technician must also complete all necessary documentation and actively report any compliance or safety issues to management. Job Requirements

  • High school certification
  • 1-2 years relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Ability to routinely lift 50 lbs
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of mathematical skills for measurements and formulas
  • Effective communication skills both verbal and written
  • Ability to comply with safety and food quality regulations
  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain

Job Qualifications

  • High school certification
  • 1-2 years relevant experience in a manufacturing or beverage production environment preferred
  • Formal training or certification in SAP, HACCP, GMP, and hygiene preferred
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to understand production schedules and laboratory testing
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain and sustain certification

Job Duties

  • Adhere to all health and safety policies and procedures and wear required personal protective equipment
  • Adhere to food quality and safety standards including GMPs, HACCP, allergen control, Kosher and FDA regulations
  • Operate and maintain batching/blending equipment and ensure quality and integrity of product
  • Transport ingredients using fork lift and pre-weigh according to SAP guidelines
  • Accurately follow batching and blending instructions and record data
  • Collect blend tank samples and collaborate with quality department for testing and adjustments
  • Maintain sanitation and perform CIP/COP sanitation on all batching/blending equipment
  • Receive and unload tankers of bulk concentrates
  • Report non-compliance and safety issues to management
