Job Description
Cemex US is a global leader in the building materials industry, renowned for its commitment to innovation, quality, and operational excellence. With over 100 years of experience, Cemex has established itself as a trusted provider of essential construction materials, servicing customers and communities worldwide. The company prides itself on fostering a dynamic work environment that supports the growth and development of its employees. With a strong focus on sustainability and safety, Cemex continues to drive the industry forward by delivering reliable products and services that contribute to building a better future.
The Batch Person role within Cemex plays a critical part in ensuring the seamless operation of a concrete mixing plant. This position involves overseeing the daily batching process, conducting plant inspections, and performing preventative and minor maintenance tasks. The Batch Person operates equipment such as loaders and closely monitors the batching process to ensure that the correct quantities and proportions of raw materials — including aggregates, cement, additives, and water — are used to produce high-quality concrete. In this position, attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols are paramount.
Working closely with sales and customer service teams, the Batch Person is essential in meeting product specifications and maintaining quality standards. The role also requires accurate documentation of incoming materials every day, supporting operational efficiency and compliance. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining established performance indicators, promoting safety practices, and assisting with ongoing minor maintenance activities to optimize plant productivity.
This position requires the Batch Person to work in varying environmental conditions, including exposure to extreme heat, cold, and noise, along with outdoor work. Physical demands include the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, operate machinery, and work at heights such as climbing ladders and silos. Safety is emphasized throughout the role, with requirements to wear appropriate protective equipment and comply with all OSHA and company regulations.
Cemex offers competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision coverage, 401(k), paid time off, holiday pay, and wellness programs designed to support employee and family health. This role is an excellent opportunity for individuals with some technical or vocational background who seek to advance their career in the building materials industry with a company recognized for its values and forward-thinking approach.
