The current job opening is for a production team member in the manufacturing division, dedicated to the creation of kids' paint products and other coatings. This role requires dependable team players who enjoy hands-on work in a clean and organized manufacturing environment. Employees in this position play a crucial part in ensuring the high standards of product quality and safety are met daily. The role involves active participation in the production process, performing precise mixing and formulation of paints; carrying out quality control tests to guarantee that products meet established specifications; and maintaining thorough and accurate production and quality control records.

Team members are expected to prepare their work area, measure raw materials according to batch requirements, operate dispersing machines, and transfer finished goods to storage or filling lines. Attention to detail and mechanical aptitude are essential to adjust product formulations based on quality checks and to maintain equipment such as mixers, forklifts, pumps, flow meters, and dust collectors. This is a physically engaging position that requires standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 pounds, within a working environment that may involve exposure to paint fumes, noise, dust, and varying temperatures.

Job Duties

  • Prepares work area for daily production
  • determines that all the raw materials are available for daily production
  • weighs out raw materials per specific batch tickets
  • mixes paints in dispersing machines as per manufacturing specifications
  • transfers finished and quality control approved paints to bulk storage or to filling machine
  • cleans area at the end of the day in preparation for next day
  • performs quality control tests on paints as per specifications
  • enters quality control data into computer database
  • makes necessary adjustments to paint based upon quality control tests
  • fills out production batch tickets
  • enters production data into computer database
  • prepares weekly summary of production
  • maintains manufacturing equipment including mixer, forklift, pumps, flow meters, dust collector
  • maintains visual check of raw material inventory levels
  • performs quarterly raw material inventory counts
