Renowned for its commitment to delivering exceptional experiences, Columbia Hospitality has repeatedly been recognized as one of the Top Companies to Work for in Washington by Seattle Business Magazine and Puget Sound Business Journal. This recognition underscores the company’s promise to create an inclusive, dynamic, and nurturing work environment that values accountability, creativity, enthusiasm, honesty, inclusion, and respect. Columbia Hospitality’s culture and values are the foundation of its continuous pursuit to create memorable guest experiences while fostering professional growth and community engagement among its employees.
The current opportunity is for a Part-Time Bartender/Server at the historic Smith Tower in Seattle. Smith Tower is an iconic landmark and was the first skyscraper in Seattle when constructed in 1914, boasting the title of the tallest building west of the Mississippi River at the time. Today, Smith Tower has been revitalized to offer a unique visitor experience including an observatory deck and bar that blends vintage charm with modern hospitality. As a bartender/server at Smith Tower, you will play a pivotal role in crafting exceptional cocktail experiences inspired by the prohibition era while also providing attentive and personalized service as a server when needed. This hybrid role demands an individual who thrives in a high-volume hospitality environment, has strong guest service skills, and can balance multiple responsibilities efficiently. With an hourly wage of $21.30 and the opportunity to get paid daily, this position offers attractive compensation alongside a comprehensive range of perks including paid time off, holiday pay, referral bonuses, discounted lodging and dining, and much more.
In this role, you will take orders accurately and prepare both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages following established recipe standards. You will be responsible for maintaining an organized, clean bar area and ensuring the presentation of cocktails is consistently appealing. Beyond beverage preparation, providing warm, engaging guest interactions is essential, as is having in-depth menu knowledge to make recommendations that elevate the guest experience. Additional responsibilities include bartending for banquet and catering events, adhering strictly to state liquor laws, and practicing safe and hygienic food handling. The Smith Tower team embraces a values-based culture, emphasizing inclusion and fresh perspectives, ensuring you join not just a job but a community dedicated to hospitality excellence.
If you are someone passionate about delivering outstanding guest experiences, enjoy working in an iconic setting, and thrive as part of a collaborative, respectful team, this hybrid bartender/server role at Smith Tower represents a fantastic opportunity to grow your career at one of Seattle’s most historic venues. Columbia Hospitality encourages candidates from diverse backgrounds to apply, making it clear that meeting every single qualification is not a prerequisite, but enthusiasm and alignment with the company's values are key. Joining Columbia Hospitality means being part of a people-first organization that values employee happiness, career development through online learning platforms, community involvement, and an inclusive work environment primed for fun and growth.
