The role of the Bartender at Ophelia's is central to this mission. Bartenders are not just servers but ambassadors of the brand who engage actively with guests to enhance their visit. They are responsible for educating customers about the diverse selection of spirits and cocktails, ensuring that each pour is perfectly tailored to the guest's preferences. The position is part-time and seasonal, with a pay range from $15.00 to $40.00 per hour. Candidates must be available for Saturday and/or Sunday brunch shifts from 8:30 am to 4 pm, ensuring the establishment can continue to provide outstanding service during its peak times.

As a Bartender, the candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean and well-stocked bar, greeting guests warmly, mixing both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, and contributing creatively to the cocktail menu. They will maintain compliance with all food and beverage regulations and handle cash and credit transactions accurately. The role plays a vital part in nurturing an excellent customer experience by understanding customer needs, making recommendations, and upholding the high standards that Ophelia's is known for. Job Requirements

  • Must be available Saturday and/or Sunday brunch 8:30am-4pm
  • Must be at least 21 years old to serve alcohol
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to work part-time and seasonal shifts
  • Must comply with food and beverage regulations
  • Must be able to handle cash and electronic transactions

Job Qualifications

  • Prior bartending experience preferred
  • Knowledge of craft cocktails and premium spirits
  • Ability to engage and educate guests
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Responsible alcohol service knowledge
  • Basic math and cash handling skills

Job Duties

  • Ensure a clean and stocked bar before opening
  • Greet all guests with an appropriate and warm greeting
  • Prepare alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages
  • Nurture an excellent customer experience
  • Interact with customers, take orders, serve food and drinks
  • Be knowledgeable of menus, current selections, and any specials
  • Assess customer needs and preferences to make recommendations
  • Mix ingredients to prepare cocktails
  • Make syrups, juices, prepare kegs, and any other mixers necessary
  • Contribute input to helping team build cocktail menus
  • Restock the bar with syrups, liquor, glassware, juices, etc.
  • Make sure that everything is at the bar, and that there are enough backups for shift
  • Check customer identification to confirm they are above the legal drinking age
  • Keep bar area clean and wiped for arrival of new guests along with keeping the workspace clean throughout the duration of your shift
  • Comply with all food and beverage regulations
  • Use the proper garnishes, china, glassware and flatware for all food and beverages
  • Handle and count cash, make accurate change, record credit cards from guests, as well as member charges, as prescribed by the food and beverage manual
