The Westside Pub, part of the Tilray Beer family, is currently expanding its hospitality team by hiring for a position combining Shift Manager and Bartender/Server duties. This full-time role offers an hourly wage ranging from $20.00 to $23.00. The position is pivotal in ensuring excellent guest experiences by effectively managing shifts while also actively serving and bartending. As a leader on the floor, you will motivate and guide front-of-house team members, ensure compliance with health, safety, and legal standards, and manage operational standards such as food presentation and ambiance. Reporting directly to the General Manager and Assistant General Manager/Pub Managers, the shift manager is accountable for daily operational reports, labor control, sales tracking, and maintaining a safe and welcoming environment.

Key responsibilities include managing opening, mid, and closing shifts as the Manager-On-Duty (MOD), addressing guest issues promptly and professionally, adhering to regulations set by the alcoholic beverage commission, enforcing sanitation procedures and safety standards, and maintaining high standards of food service quality and establishment ambiance. The role demands a high level of multitasking ability, strong verbal communication skills, a self-motivated attitude, and a vibrant energy to foster teamwork and deliver outstanding customer service.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in bartending or serving
  • Experience in managing shifts or teams preferred
  • Strong communication skills

  • Ability to work day and night shifts
  • Must be 21 years or older

Job Duties

  • Run opening, mid, and closing shifts as the Manager-On-Duty for 1-2 shifts a week, plus more as needed by management team
  • Address any and all guest issues while acting as the Manager-On-Duty
  • Avoid legal challenges by conforming to the regulations of the alcoholic beverage commission
  • Maintain safe, secure, and healthy environment by establishing, following, and enforcing sanitation standards and procedures
  • Comply with legal regulations and secure revenues
  • Maintain ambiance by controlling lighting, background music, glassware, dinnerware, and utensil quality and placement
  • Monitor food presentation and service
