The Bartender Tipped position at Sodexo Live is based at the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex and is offered as a part-time role. This role is essential in delivering high-quality customer service by preparing and serving beverages efficiently while maintaining a friendly and attentive attitude toward guests. The pay range for this role varies between $2.13 per hour plus tips to $21.54 per hour, reflecting the tipped nature of the position. The role requires individuals to have open availability as work shifts and hours vary, and these details are provided more specifically during the interview process.

As a Bartender Tipped, you will be responsible for mixing and serving both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, interacting with guests, and ensuring the bar area has all necessary equipment and supplies. This role demands not only skill in drink preparation but also the ability to collaborate well with wait staff and other team members to provide timely and friendly service to patrons. Physical stamina is important as bartenders must be able to stand or walk for extended periods, perform repetitive movements, and regularly lift supplies weighing up to 35 pounds with occasional requirements to move heavier items.

In addition to technical bartending skills, candidates are expected to be tactful and courteous in their dealings with customers, helping to create a welcoming environment. Bartenders must also maintain accurate inventory counts and assist in restocking as needed to ensure the smooth operation of the bar. Punctuality and reliability are crucial, as well as the ability to perform other duties as assigned depending on the specific needs of the business and client requirements.

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
  • 0 to 1 year related experience
  • ability to make a wide range of drink recipes and be able to mix drinks correctly is preferred
  • must be at or over the minimum age to serve alcohol or bartend based on local city and state regulations

Job Duties

  • Greets guests, mixes and serves alcoholic/non-alcoholic drinks, and creates drink recipes with appropriate garnishes
  • ensure that the assigned bar area is fully equipped with tools and products needed for mixing beverages and serving guests
  • prepare accurate beginning counts and issue inventory or purchase requisitions as needed to replenish supplies
  • bartenders should be friendly, tactful and attentive when working with customers
  • significant walking or other means of mobility
  • ability to walk or stand for extended periods of time, throughout the entire duration of a shift, which may exceed 8 hours
  • ability to reach, bend, stoop, push and/or pull, and frequently lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift/move 50 pounds
  • must be able to perform repetitive movements
  • attends work and shows for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity
  • other duties may be assigned and can differ among accounts, depending on business necessities and client requirements
