The Bartender position at Sunriver Resort’s iconic Owl's Nest bar offers a unique opportunity to be part of this exceptional environment. The role is integral in crafting memorable experiences through expertly mixed drinks and outstanding customer service. As a Bartender, you will be responsible for creating a warm and inviting atmosphere where guests can relax and enjoy a curated selection of cocktails, beer, and wine. This position requires attention to detail, adherence to legal and resort policies, and a passion for mixology and guest interaction. The successful candidate will ensure all alcohol is responsibly served, maintaining compliance with Oregon Liquor Control Commission (OLCC) standards and Sunriver Resort policies. Your duties will not only include preparing and serving beverages but also cleanliness of the bar area, managing inventory, and assisting restaurant staff as needed.

A strong knowledge of current beverage trends and a commitment to the highest customer service standards are essential. The Bartender will handle POS system operations, manage tabs, and ensure proper handling of cash and credit transactions. You will play a key role in elevating guest satisfaction through prompt resolution of issues, offering dining and drink recommendations, and providing accurate resort information. Job Requirements

  • must be at least 21 years of age
  • at least one year resort server experience preferred
  • at least one year food & beverage experience preferred
  • at least six months experience with POS systems preferred
  • at least one year bartending experience preferred
  • at least one year of customer service experience required
  • must possess valid OLCC card upon hire
  • must possess valid Food Handler’s card upon hire
  • ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • maintains a commitment to customer service and guest satisfaction
  • mixes ingredients to prepare cocktails and other beverages according to recipe
  • maintains cleanliness of walk-ins and reach-ins
  • adheres to all OLCC and Sunriver Resort policies
  • ensures cleanliness of bar and glassware
  • takes food and beverages orders, using POS system to ring items in
  • ensures opening, ongoing and closing sidework is complete and signed off by a manager on duty
  • counts money in cash drawers at end of shift to ensure the amounts are correct and there is adequate change
  • ensures end of shift bank is balanced with appropriate procedures followed in daily drop
  • obtains credit cards to begin tabs
  • must ensure bookkeeping and proper payment is received
  • maintains season liquor, beer and wine pars
  • responsible for daily requisition completion
  • properly reports tips and hours at the end of each shift using the proper documents for recording
  • ensures supplies/ingredients are properly stocked before, during and after shift
  • checks identification to verify age requirements for alcohol purchase/consumption
  • offers menu advice and suggestions to guests
  • assists the restaurant team as needed
  • maintains a strong knowledge of beverage trends
  • attends monthly mandatory department meeting and appropriate resort and division meetings
  • resolves guest issues promptly and with great care and effectiveness
  • provides general resort information for guests
