Job Description

The Whistler is a dynamic bar, gallery, and live music venue that offers a vibrant atmosphere where patrons can enjoy an eclectic mix of live performances and DJ sets. Located in a lively part of town, The Whistler has carved a niche as a cultural hub where art meets nightlife. Known for its award-winning cocktail program, the establishment prides itself on an ever-evolving menu featuring classic drinks, contemporary favorites, and unique original concoctions that set it apart from other bars in the area. This blend of artistic expression and high-quality beverage service attracts a diverse crowd, ranging from music lovers to cocktail enthusiasts. The environment is energetic and inclusive, creating a welcoming space for patrons and staff alike.

We are currently seeking dedicated individuals to join our team in two essential roles: Bartender and Support Staff. Whether you are interested in crafting exceptional drinks or ensuring smooth operations behind the scenes, The Whistler offers a stimulating workplace that values hard work, creativity, and teamwork. The bartending position is available both full-time and part-time, with a preference for full-time candidates who thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced setting. For those interested in the Support role, shifts range from 2 to 4 per week, covering duties as door staff, host, prep, and barback.

The Whistler operates with specific hours that accommodate a nightlife crowd, opening its doors at 6 pm. Last call times vary throughout the week, with hours extending later on weekends, providing both bartenders and support staff with late-night work opportunities. This role is ideal for individuals who are punctual, service-oriented, and passionate about music and hospitality. We emphasize a culture of respect among teammates and guests and look for employees who can think on their feet and adapt quickly to fast-changing situations. Our team is enthusiastic, collaborative, and driven to deliver an exceptional experience to every visitor.

Candidates for the Bartender role should have a minimum of two years of experience working in a high-volume environment with a focus on quality cocktail preparation. This experience will prepare you to maintain The Whistler's standards of excellence while engaging with customers and managing busy service hours effectively. For Support staff, a willingness to learn and a positive attitude are vital as you may be responsible for several different functions during your shift. Both positions require the ability to safely stand for long periods, navigate stairs, and occasionally lift up to 40 pounds. Availability on Friday and Saturday nights is a must, alongside the willingness to work late hours, holidays, and weekends, as our venue operates primarily during peak nightlife hours.

At The Whistler, we are committed to providing our team with a rewarding work environment that encourages growth and development. Joining us means becoming part of a community dedicated to creativity, quality, and the joy of music and cocktails. If you are ready to be part of a passionate team in a unique cultural setting, we invite you to apply and contribute to The Whistler's ongoing success and vibrant atmosphere.
