The role in focus is a Beverage Server, an essential position within PENN Entertainment’s casino operations. This position involves providing fast, friendly, and professional beverage service to casino guests and fellow beverage servers while ensuring adherence to company standards and regulations. The Beverage Server acts not only as a service provider but also as an ambassador of goodwill, promoting casino events, engaging positively with guests, and upholding the establishment's reputation.
Responsibilities include monitoring guest alcohol consumption to ensure compliance with safety guidelines, preparing and serving drinks using proper portions and recipes, and maintaining cleanliness and equipment operation standards. The Beverage Server must operate cash registers effectively, handle financial transactions, and maintain integrity in financial controls. Collaborative work with other team members such as bartenders, barbacks, beverage supervisors, and slots supervisors is crucial to creating an optimal guest experience.
Physical demands for this role require mobility and the ability to work in fast-paced, noisy, and sometimes crowded environments. The server should be able to handle duties such as slicing fruit, using Point of Sale (POS) systems, and responding promptly to visual and oral cues while maintaining a professional appearance. The position also demands flexibility in working hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Job Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to count money and change correctly
- Knows cocktail ingredients and proper mixing and pouring techniques
- Available to work required schedule which may include nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed
- Must meet professional appearance standards as prescribed by company policy
- Must be physically mobile with reasonable accommodation
- Must be able to respond to visual and oral cues
- Able to work in constricting areas
- Able to tolerate noise and bright lights
- Able to work at a fast pace in often crowded and noisy environment
- Physically mobile with reasonable accommodations including ability to push, pull, carry and lift up to 25 lbs
- and the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces

Job Duties
- Monitoring guest consumption of alcohol and intervenes as needed according to guidelines
- Serving as ambassador of goodwill while working and at customer and public relations functions
- Appearing in publicity photos
- Promoting casino events and programs
- Providing personalized service and uses guest name
- Resolving service problems according to guidelines
- Providing fast, friendly, professional beverage service to casino guests and beverage servers
- Preparing and pouring drink orders with proper portions and ingredients according to recipe
- Communicating with beverage servers
- Presenting drinks to guests or servers as required
- Slicing and pitting fruit as required
- Operating and maintaining all equipment and utensils as required in accordance with established guidelines and safety procedures
- Operating a cash register or POS System
- Ringing proper amount into the register and giving the guest or server the correct change
- Accounting for all cash, charge, and complimentary sales according to established procedures
- Maintaining integrity of all financial controls and responsibilities
- Working well with others, especially beverage servers, bartenders, barbacks, beverage supervisor, and slots supervisor
- Maintaining a clean and stocked workstation in accordance with established health and safety guidelines
