Job Description

We are currently seeking a dedicated and personable Part Time Bartender to join our team at Shaughnessy's Pub located within the hotel. This role is ideal for individuals who have a passion for hospitality and enjoy creating memorable experiences for guests. As a bartender at Shaughnessy's Pub, you will be the face of our beverage service, responsible for greeting guests warmly, mixing and serving drinks with precision, and maintaining the bar's cleanliness and stock. You will play a critical role in ensuring our guests receive outstanding service in a friendly and lively atmosphere.

In your day-to-day duties, you will be responsible for setting up the bar area each day, ensuring all stock including beer, wine, spirits, and other supplies are adequately replenished based on daily projections. You will maintain fresh garnishes and perishables to uphold the quality of every drink served. Additionally, you will comply with all applicable legal and corporate guidelines related to serving alcoholic beverages, ensuring a safe and responsible environment for our guests. Your responsibilities also include accurately processing orders at the point of sale, handling guest payments, securing cash deposits, and safeguarding all bar-related equipment.

Job Requirements

  • Bartending experience
  • Ability to communicate well with guests and co-workers
  • Self-starting personality with an even disposition
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor
  • Ability to work flexible hours
  • Compliance with State, Federal and Corporate alcohol service laws
  • Availability to work part-time hours
  • Ability to handle cash transactions accurately

Job Qualifications

  • Preferred one year bartending experience
  • Excellent guest service and communication skills
  • Knowledge of drink recipes and mixology techniques
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to maintain cleanliness and order in the bar area

Job Duties

  • Maintains proper and adequate set-up of the bar on a daily basis
  • Responsible for maintaining stock, cutting, and storing of all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices and other perishables daily to ensure product quality
  • Greets guests in a courteous and friendly manner, promotes and documents orders for drinks
  • Mixes, garnishes and presents drinks using standard ingredient recipes and practicing prudent portion control
  • Abide by all State, Federal and Corporate requirements pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages
  • Inputs orders into a register at the point of sale and creates a check for each guest, including those served by other beverage servers, to maintain accountability of all beverages served
  • Receives cash from guests, makes any change needed, verifies validity of charges, records charges, and ensures vouchers are properly executed, in order to balance all moneys
  • Locks up and stores all beverage, food and other equipment items, deposits cash drops and secures bank
  • Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis
  • Perform any other job-related duties as assigned
