The role of the Bartender/Server at Sundial Beach Resort & Spa is a dynamic and engaging position that demands a combination of hospitality skills, a strong work ethic, and a team-oriented attitude. The successful candidate will play a vital role in delivering exceptional guest experiences by providing courteous, efficient, and knowledgeable service to all patrons. This includes welcoming and greeting guests warmly, managing beverage and food orders with accuracy using the point-of-sale system, and ensuring compliance with liquor pour standards. Bartenders and servers are also responsible for informing guests of daily specials, answering questions about the menu and services offered by the resort, and ensuring that all drinks and meals are prepared and served promptly.
In addition to direct guest interaction, this role requires attention to operational details such as maintaining clean and stocked service and dining areas, completing opening and closing side work, and monitoring guest satisfaction throughout the dining experience. The ability to respond quickly and courteously to guest requests and to resolve any issues by involving the manager-on-duty is essential. Bartenders and servers also handle the financial transactions efficiently, preparing the final bill, accepting payments, and processing them accurately through the POS system. A comprehensive understanding and adherence to all departmental policies, standards, and procedures are crucial for success in this role. Job Duties
- Maintain a guest focus while performing duties
- welcome and greet guests
- comply with liquor pour standards as set by Food & Beverage Director
- inform guests of any food and beverage specials
- be knowledgeable and able to answer questions about our food, beverages, and other restaurant and resort functions and services
- take food and beverage orders from guests, enter orders in point-of-sale system
- prepare and serve beverages for guests in a timely and accurate manner
- perform side work during each shift as required by service station assignments
- complete opening and closing side work
- maintain clean and stocked service and dining areas
- monitor and observe guests dining experience
- ensure guests are satisfied with the food and beverage service
- respond promptly and courteously to any requests
- prepare final bill, present check to guest, accept payment, and process through the POS system
- thank the guests for their visit and invite them to return
- notify the manager-on-duty any time a guest is not 100 percent satisfied with their experience
- have complete knowledge of all policies, standards, and procedures of the department
