The current opening at Le M\u00e9ridien Chicago - Oakbrook Center is for a Bartender within the Food and Beverage team. This role involves serving beverages and food to guests in a friendly, courteous, and timely manner to deliver outstanding guest satisfaction. The bartender will be responsible for preparing drinks not only for guests but also for other servers, acting as cashier for the bar, and ensuring the bar area is properly stocked and maintained. Duties include requisitioning beer, wine, spirits, paper products, condiments, and fresh produce based on daily event projections, as well as managing the cutting and storage of fresh garnishes and perishables to maintain product quality. The bartender also greets guests warmly, promotes beverages, mixes drinks according to standard recipes while practicing prudent portion control, and handles cash and credit transactions accurately using the point of sale system to ensure accountability.

This position requires a passion for hospitality and a commitment to superior customer service. Ideal candidates will have at least 6 months experience as a bartender with valid food handler and TIPS certification or equivalent. Flexibility to work varying shifts including evenings and weekends is expected, allowing for a work-life balance that suits the candidate’s lifestyle. Job Duties
