The role of Bartender at the 845 Suite Historic Powhatan Resort is pivotal in enhancing the guest experience by expertly preparing and serving beverages and providing attentive customer service. This position demands a thorough knowledge of menu items, beverage brands, cocktail recipes, beer varieties, wines, sodas, waters, sugars, and other prepared beverages. The bartender is responsible for serving beverages in compliance with all state regulations pertaining to alcohol service and consumption.

In addition to drink service, the bartender serves hot and cold food to guests in a timely manner, particularly in pool grill areas, while maintaining a clean and organized work environment. Responsibilities also encompass following comprehensive steps of service, including greeting and welcoming guests, upselling beverage and menu items, establishing rapport with customers, pre-bussing tables, thanking guests, and inviting them to return. Cash handling duties, including collecting payments for food and beverages, are also part of the role.

Preparation and upkeep of the bar area is essential to ensure smooth operation throughout service hours. This involves stocking supplies such as ice and fruit garnishes, and performing general cleaning tasks with standard cleaning procedures.
