Aparium is currently seeking a Seasonal Bartender to join the Food & Beverage team for the Seattle summer season through September. This role is integral to delivering exemplary guest service and upholding the company’s high standards of hospitality. Reporting to the Food & Beverage Manager, the Bartender role is non-exempt and offers an hourly wage of $21.30 plus tips. This position emphasizes teamwork and collaboration among Food & Beverage professionals, with a focus on crafting memorable experiences through expert beverage service.

The Seasonal Bartender position demands strong knowledge and skills in beverage preparation and service techniques, along with excellent time management abilities. Ongoing beverage tastings and training sessions provide opportunities for bartenders to continually enhance their expertise in drink crafting and customer engagement. The role requires attentiveness to guest needs, precision in managing monetary transactions, and a firm understanding of responsible alcohol service. This role suits candidates with experience in bartending within free-standing bars or hotel settings and who are eager to deepen their knowledge of craft beverages. The Seasonal Bartender will actively participate in daily operational meetings, uphold cleanliness and organization, ensure legal and safe alcohol service, and collaborate with the Food & Beverage team to create seamless service. Job Requirements

  • Passion for the people, place and culture of our community, love of restaurants and guest service also required
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a bartender in either a free-standing or hotel bar
  • Ability to obtain and maintain alcohol servers permit (MAST) and wa food handler permit within 14 days of hire
  • Ability to meet local age requirements to serve alcohol
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule to include weekends and holidays
  • Fluency in english, verbal and written
  • Ability to continuously stand and/or walk for most of a shift
  • Ability to lift and/or carry 30 lbs. (chair, table, tray, crate, box, etc.)
  • Ability to lift, balance and carry (with assistance) up to 100 lbs. to transport beverage inventory, equipment, etc.

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of two years of experience as a bartender in either a free-standing or hotel bar
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Alcohol Servers Permit (MAST) and WA Food handler Permit within 14 days of hire
  • Fluency in English, verbal and written
  • Strong passion for hospitality and guest service
  • Ability to work flexible schedule including weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • Uphold and model the companys principles of people, place and character, driving collaboration, intuition and translocal hospitality
  • Own all aspects of a guests bar experience from extending a warm greeting to executing on requests in a friendly and timely manner
  • Participate in daily lineups and staff meetings to further develop ideas and objectives with the service team
  • Be accountable for working knowledge of the menu
  • and to serve alcohol safely, responsibly, and legally
  • and accurately account for all monetary transactions during your shift
  • Share your extensive knowledge of the beverage world with your guests, using your product knowledge to enhance a guest experience and offer relevant additions
  • Ensure your workstation is clean and organized, with the utmost respect for your guests, peers, and equipment
  • Demonstrate an understanding of basic beer, wine, spirit, and cocktail terms and strive to know more
  • Observe conditions of all physical facilities and relay any challenges to the food and beverage leadership team to make corrections and improvements as needed
  • Assist in other areas of the f+b department as needed
