Job Description
Freehand is an innovative and dynamic hospitality brand well-known for its unique shared accommodation concept that caters to a new generation of urban travelers. Originating with properties in major U.S. cities such as New York City, Los Angeles, Miami, and Chicago, Freehand Hotels have established a strong presence by blending vibrant social culture, distinctive architectural design by Roman and Williams, and affordable, quality food and beverage offerings. This combination has garnered notable accolades, including recognition by Fast Company as one of the top 50 most innovative global companies. The organization seeks to cultivate environments that resonate with the cultural heartbeat of their locations, offering guests and employees alike a place to engage with the community, enjoy creative experiences, and savor unforgettable moments. Freehand’s properties are designed to be safe, social, and stylish spots seamlessly integrated into their city’s fabric.
Freehand Los Angeles is housed in the historic Commercial Exchange building located in the bustling downtown district. This property embodies the Freehand ethos with carefully designed interiors, a lively event calendar, and multiple venues including the Broken Shaker rooftop bar and pool, Rudolph’s Bar & Tea bar, The Exchange Restaurant, and Cafe Integral. Its proximity to local restaurants, bars, markets, and hotspots makes it a cherished destination for both visitors and staff. The hotel offers various accommodation styles, from suites and premium rooms to shared spaces, creating a diverse community atmosphere.
The role of Bartender at Freehand Los Angeles is a seasonal, customer-facing position requiring an experienced, motivated, and organized individual who thrives in lively environments and enjoys delivering exceptional service. The Bartender will be integral to creating memorable experiences by expertly preparing alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, engaging with guests, and maintaining the bar’s smooth operation. This involves a solid understanding of product knowledge, including coffee, wine, liquor, champagnes, and cocktail development.
Teamwork, communication skills, and the ability to work under pressure are key attributes for success in this role. The position also demands strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to complying with health, safety, fire safety, and food hygiene legislation. Responsibility for cash handling and maintaining company service standards are also important facets. This role offers a unique opportunity to be a part of an innovative company recognized for its creative approach to hospitality, blending cultural awareness with a vibrant workplace culture.
Joining Freehand means gaining access to a range of employee benefits such as birthday holidays, fertility treatment support leave, referral bonuses, gym membership contributions, and rewards through an Ideas Award program. Employees also enjoy global travel opportunities via the network of Freehand and Generator properties, discounted accommodation rates, and active social engagement through various events and recognition schemes. Continuous professional development is supported through online learning tools. Local benefits include health and dental coverage, life and disability insurance, paid leave, and options for voluntary insurance programs.
This seasonal Bartender position is ideal for someone passionate about food and drink trends, eager to work in a fast-paced social setting, and ready to contribute to a forward-thinking hospitality brand. Freehand’s inclusive culture ensures employment decisions are based on capabilities and qualifications without discrimination, fostering a collaborative and welcoming environment for all team members.
