Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum two years bartending experience in luxury or high end setting
- Basic knowledge of alcoholic beverage preparation and service
- Basic mathematical skills necessary for cash handling
- Proficient in English language speaking, reading and writing
- Manual dexterity for glassware and garnishing tasks
- Ability to stand and walk for eight hours
- Ability to lift 40 lbs
- Willingness to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Must obtain RBS and California Food Handler Card within 30 days
- Must comply with all liquor laws and health regulations
Job Qualifications
- Two years of bartending experience in a high end or luxury cocktail bar
- Mixologist work experience preferred
- Previous FORBES training preferred
- Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation
- Basic mathematical skills for cash handling
- Basic English writing and communication skills
- Ability to operate point of sale systems
- Ability to lift 40 lbs
- Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays
- Ability to obtain Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certificate
- Ability to obtain California Food Handler Card
Job Duties
- Maintains proper and adequate set-up of the bar on a daily basis including requisitioning and stocking of supplies
- Responsible for maintaining stock, cutting, and storing of all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices and other perishables
- Greets guests in a courteous and friendly manner, promotes and documents orders for drinks
- Mixes, garnishes and presents drinks using standard ingredient recipes and practicing prudent portion control
- Checks guests for proper identification and acts upon guest inebriation as trained
- Inputs orders into a register at the point of sale and creates checks for guests
- Receives cash from guests, makes change, verifies charges, records transactions, balances money and secures deposits
- Locks up and stores all beverage, food, and equipment items properly
- Deposits cash bank securely
- Participates in maintaining cleanliness and organization of the bar area
- Adheres to all liquor laws and hotel policies
- Collaborates with the team to provide exceptional guest experiences
