The role of Bartender at Sky & Vine Restaurant offers a unique opportunity to contribute to an elevated rooftop dining experience in Downtown Napa. The position is hourly-paid, ranging from $16.90 to $17.00, plus tips and any applicable administrative or service fee distributions per company policy. The Bartender is a key member of the service team, responsible for creating memorable guest experiences through skillfully made cocktails, prompt and friendly service, and maintaining a clean and inviting bar area. The ideal candidate will possess strong product knowledge, including food, beverage, cocktail, and wine menus, and must be adept at memorizing these menus to assist guests effectively.

Daily responsibilities include greeting guests promptly, verifying age for alcohol service, making traditional and specialty cocktails, checking in with guests to ensure satisfaction, handling payments, and following proper cash handling procedures. Bartenders also support inventory management by maintaining liquor, wine, and bar supplies, preparing garnishes, and ensuring all bar areas are clean and well-organized. Compliance with all food and alcohol laws and company policies is mandatory, as well as participation in required certifications like Alcohol Awareness and Food Handlers certificates.

This role requires excellent communication skills, hospitality-focused mindset, and the ability to adapt quickly in a dynamic environment. Physical demands include standing for extended periods and occasionally lifting up to 60 pounds. Experience using point-of-sale (POS) systems and prior bartending experience are considered advantageous. Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous bartending experience preferred
  • Knowledge of traditional and specialty cocktails

  • Ability to memorize menus for cocktails, wine, and food
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Certification in Alcohol Awareness or Food Handlers is a plus
  • Experience with POS systems is a plus
