Job Description

The role is that of a Bartender, a pivotal position responsible for efficiently maintaining bar supplies and ensuring the seamless running of bar operations. This position demands a deep familiarity with an extensive variety of liquors, mixed drink recipes, prices, and an understanding of the proper glassware and garnishes required for each drink. The bartender must be adept at preparing daily requisitions to keep bar stock optimized and ensure guests receive their drinks promptly and accurately. Cash handling skills are crucial, including familiarity with the MICROS system or registers, proper discounting, and tip policies. The bartender is responsible for accurately charging guests and handling all monetary transactions conscientiously.

Additionally, the bartender will play an essential role in maintaining positive guest relations by anticipating needs, responding promptly, and resolving any issues or complaints to guarantee guest satisfaction. All bartenders are expected to undergo formal training on liquor liability within 30 days of employment and continue with periodic training every two years to maintain compliance and uphold safety standards.

Working in this role will expose the individual to a fast-paced and social setting, requiring strong multitasking abilities and effective communication skills. The position is compensated at $8.00 per hour plus tips, alongside perks such as a free meal, free downtown parking, and paid time off (PTO). The schedule may include nights, weekends, and holidays, reflecting the operation hours of the venue.

Job Requirements

  • Ability to work in a standard office environment
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer for 6-8 hours a day
  • Occasional standing and walking throughout the workday
  • Frequent fine motor skills usage including keyboarding, typing, utilizing mouse or trackpad, writing and operating office equipment
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, bend, reach or carry items
  • Ability to lift and or move 10-25 pounds as needed, such as files and office supplies
  • Visual ability to read from a computer screen and printed materials including close visual focus for extended periods and color differentiation
  • Ability to hear and participate in conversations and meetings, use phone and or headset

Job Duties

  • Efficiently maintain bar supplies, including preparation of daily requisition as necessary
  • Must be completely familiar with all different kinds of liquor, recipes and prices of drinks, proper glassware used for each recipe, as well as garnishes needed
  • Know drink recipes, prices and type of beverages available
  • Be familiar with accurate cash handling procedures to include proper discounting, MICROS system (or registers), bank procedures and tip policies
  • Responsible for accurately charging the guests for drinks
  • Responsible for accurate intake of all the monies
  • Anticipate guest needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, maintaining positive guest relations at all times
  • Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction in each interaction
  • Be formally trained regarding liquor liability within 30 days of employment and every 2 years thereafter
