- must obtain Food Handlers certification upon hire
- must obtain and maintain a New Mexico Alcohol Server's License prior to hire date
- must be at least 21 years of age

Job Qualifications

- 6 months to one year of bartending, serving or barback experience preferred
- knowledge of basic cocktails preferred
- familiarity with Point of Sale (POS) systems preferred

- ability to count money/change correctly
- excellent beverage knowledge including ingredients and mixing techniques
- comprehensive knowledge of liquor, beer, and wines
- knowledge of alcoholic beverage preparation and delivery systems
- knowledge of bar and restaurant operations
- interpersonal skills to address needs and handle difficult people appropriately
- experience with POS programs
- detail oriented with strong customer service focus

Job Duties
- Provides exceptional service to guests by taking orders, making recommendations, and ensuring a positive experience
- crafts and serves a wide range of beverages including cocktails, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic drinks
- serves food items as required and prepares drinks with proper pouring portions and ingredients according to recipe with correct jigger and wine carafe usage
- sets up the bar area at beginning of shift including stocking products and changing kegs, slicing fruit for garnish
- breaks down the bar area at closing including removal of empty cups and trash, wiping down bar surfaces and stools
- checks equipment and reports problems to supervisory team, operates and maintains all equipment and utensils as required
- maintains a clean bar and stocked workstation following health and safety guidelines
- operates POS system, handling cash/charge sales accurately and maintaining financial controls
- adheres to alcohol service laws including age verification and responsible beverage service practices
- refuses service to intoxicated guests and manages such situations with tact and diplomacy
- responsible for bar/workstation clean-up and completing closing procedures
- assists in training new team members
- ensures glassware is clean and free of damage
- attends pre-shift meetings about specials, service, and promotions
- completes daily sales and cash reconciliation
- maintains secure and proper product storage
- documents incidents daily
- ensures temperature logs are kept
- maintains cleanliness of cash registers
- represents department professionally
- punctual and regular attendance
- performs other job-related duties as assigned
- changes kegs following safety requirements in absence of barback or server
- maintains clean tables including removal of glassware and clearing at closing with sanitation
