Job Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Able to stand and walk for long periods
- Able to lift up to 25 lbs
- Basic communication and math skills
- Availability to work weekends and holidays
- Must pass a stringent background investigation
- Must pass pre-employment and random drug screenings
- Must obtain Food Handlers certification upon hire
- Must obtain and maintain New Mexico Alcohol Server's License prior to hire
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of bartending, cocktail recipes, and beverage preparation techniques
- Experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to perform accurate cash handling
- Knowledge of liquor, beer, and wine varieties
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and follow hygiene guidelines
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations
- Ability to follow oral and written directions
- Familiarity with alcohol service laws and responsible serving practices
Job Duties
- Provides exceptional service to guests by taking orders, making recommendations, and ensuring a positive experience
- Crafts and serves a wide range of beverages including cocktails, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic drinks
- Serves food items as required, prepares drinks with proper pouring portions and ingredients according to recipe using jigger and wine carafe
- Sets up and breaks down the bar area including stocking products and cleaning duties
- Checks equipment such as ice machine, refrigerator, glass washers, and draft system, reporting issues to supervisory team
- Maintains a clean bar and stocked workstation per health and safety guidelines
- Operates POS system, handles transactions, maintains financial controls, and completes cash and credit reconciliation
- Adheres to alcohol service laws including age verification and responsible service practices
- Refuses service to intoxicated guests and handles challenges with tact, notifying supervisors
- Assists in training new team members and attends pre-shift meetings regarding specials and promotions
- Completes daily incident documentation and temperature logs
- Ensures glassware is spotless and bar is properly stocked
- Responsible for accurate tendering and presenting checks to guests
- Represents department positively through professional conduct and appearance
- Maintains punctual and regular attendance according to policy
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
- Changes kegs and maintains tables in absence of barback or server
- Handles clean-up of bar/workstation and completes closing paperwork
- Contacts on-duty supervisor for register voids
- Ensures responsible alcohol service among co-workers
- Maintains cleanliness of registers
