Job Requirements
- 2+ years of bartender experience required preferably in a full service hotel setting
- knowledge of liquor brands, beer, wine, champagne, non-alcoholic beverages
- alcohol awareness certification and/or food service permit or valid health/food handler card
- ability to work Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays mid-shift at pool bar and two evening shifts at lobby bar
- availability to work some holidays
- excellent communication skills
- basic math skills
Job Qualifications

- knowledge of liquor brands, beer, wine, champagne, non-alcoholic beverages
- understanding of designated glassware, preparation methods and garnishments
- alcohol awareness certification or valid food service permit or health/food handler card as required by local/state government
- formal bartending training preferred
- excellent communication skills for guest and employee interaction
- basic math skills for handling cash and credit transactions
Job Duties
- Greet guests pleasantly as they approach the pool bar and lobby bar
- promote house drinks and utilize up-selling skills to maximize revenues
- prepare beverages requested by customers
- adhere to established pouring standards and drink recipes to provide a consistent product and control costs
- coordinate food service with restaurant(s) for bar/lounge guests if applicable
- monitor guest behavior and alcohol consumption to determine when service should cease
- notify management of incidents involving excessive alcohol consumption or impaired customers
- check identification for age verification
- alert management of service and safety issues
- make service recovery gestures to ensure guest satisfaction
- set up bar including liquor, mixers, ice, garnishes, glassware and supplies
- perform pre- and post-shift side work such as emptying/filling ice bins, preparing garnishments, replenishing/storing snacks
- requisition supplies
- inventory unused liquor and beverages
- ensure liquor security before, during and after shift
- obtain, count and secure bartender’s bank
- handle cash and credit payments
- balance cash drawer at end of shift
- inspect pool and lobby bar daily for cleanliness and equipment operation
- sweep and mop bar floor after shift
- wipe down counters, equipment, stools, chairs, tables
- promote teamwork and quality service through communication and coordination with other departments
- perform other duties as assigned
