The Bartender position is vital to our operation, requiring an outgoing and personable individual who contributes to the overall guest experience. This role demands strong communication skills, quick thinking, and an ability to maintain composure under pressure. The ideal candidate will take pride in their appearance and demonstrate dedication, integrity, and honesty in all aspects of their work. This position is part-time with specific availability on Sundays, which are mandatory. The Bartender will be responsible for creating a pleasant atmosphere, mixing and serving drinks according to standard recipes, handling transactions, tracking open tabs, and ensuring all bar areas are neat and well-stocked. This position demands awareness of guest needs and the responsible service of alcohol to maintain safety and compliance with state laws. Candidates with a solid knowledge of beverages and those who are eager to work as part of a forward-thinking team are encouraged to apply.

Job Requirements

  • Be of legal age to serve alcohol
  • Possess state applicable health and/or alcohol compliance card
  • Ability to pass Responsible Service of Alcohol Test with a score of 90 percent or better
  • Basic mathematical skills and ability to handle money and give correct change
  • Possess basic reading and computer skills
  • Must be multi-task oriented
  • Must be available to work Sundays

Job Qualifications

  • Possess state applicable health and/or alcohol compliance card
  • Possess basic reading and computer skills
  • Have basic knowledge of beer, wine, and spirits
  • Familiarity with standard drink recipes
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask
  • Knowledge of company's food and beverage specifications and workplace safety procedures

Job Duties

  • Welcome each guest personally using enthusiastic words, tone, and body language at all times
  • Make guests feel appreciated
  • Work as a team with all personnel to maintain an effective atmosphere and efficient service
  • Keep all areas cleaned and stocked to company standards
  • Mix, garnish, and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks for patrons following standard recipes
  • Input drink orders into computer immediately, collect money from guests and make change
  • Arrange bottles and glasses to maintain an attractive display
  • Wash and sterilize stemware
  • Count drinks guests are served and track open bar tabs
  • Anticipate guests' needs and follow the half-full rule when offering another drink
  • Learn guests' names, occupations, and favorite drinks
  • Responsibly serve alcohol and monitor guests’ intoxication levels
  • Perform other duties as assigned
