Job Description

Hotel Kansas City is a premier historic luxury hotel located in the iconic Kansas City Club building, offering guests a unique blend of old-world charm and modern elegance in the heart of downtown Kansas City. This distinguished establishment draws on over a century of history as the city's premier social meeting place and has been thoughtfully restored to provide an unparalleled experience in hospitality. With 144 beautifully appointed guest rooms, Hotel Kansas City caters to travelers seeking sophistication and comfort. The hotel also features a variety of upscale dining and entertainment options, including Town Company, a Farm-to-Table restaurant known for inventive cuisine; Nighthawk, a live music venue and cocktail bar providing vibrant nightlife; The Lobby Market, an inviting coffee and breakfast café; and The Classic, a stylish lobby lounge and bar that fosters a welcoming social atmosphere for both locals and visitors.

In addition to its luxurious accommodations and vibrant venues, Hotel Kansas City boasts over 20,000 square feet of meeting and event space. This includes stunning historic ballrooms preserved with original architectural details and a 3,000 square-foot rooftop patio designed to host memorable social and corporate gatherings. Whether for large conventions or intimate celebrations, the hotel's event offerings support a wide array of occasions, blending historic ambiance with modern amenities.

The Bartender role at Hotel Kansas City is a vital position responsible for delivering exceptional food and beverage service to guests at the lively Nighthawk venue and the elegant lobby bar, The Classic. As a bartender, you will be the face of the guest experience, greeting patrons warmly, taking and preparing drink orders efficiently, and maintaining a clean and well-stocked bar area. This role demands a professional yet friendly demeanor to ensure every guest receives outstanding service, creating a memorable and enjoyable atmosphere that reflects the hotel's commitment to excellence.

The successful candidate will be adept at mixing a variety of cocktails to company standards, managing point-of-sale transactions accurately, handling cash and credit payments securely, and adhering to health and safety guidelines. A key part of the role includes performing opening and closing procedures for the bars, managing inventory, polishing glassware, and assisting with cleaning tasks to maintain a pristine environment. The bartender will also collaborate closely with Food and Beverage Management and the Director to fulfill any additional duties required to enhance the guest experience.

Joining Hotel Kansas City means becoming part of a respected team devoted to preserving a historic legacy while providing top-tier hospitality services. This position offers excellent benefits, including health insurance options, retirement savings plans with company matching, paid time off, and opportunities for professional growth. If you possess strong bartending skills, a passion for guest service, and a desire to work in a historic and dynamic setting, Hotel Kansas City offers a distinctive and rewarding career opportunity.
