Job Description

The role of Bartender at Oak View Group is a dynamic and customer-focused position critical to the success of the hospitality services provided at the company’s venues. This is a seasonal position beginning on April 24, 2026, and concluding on August 24, 2026, with a competitive hourly pay rate of $12.00 plus tips. The Bartender must be personable, professional, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced and constantly evolving environment. Bartenders at OVG are responsible for delivering excellent beverage service to guests, including both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. This involves adhering to company standards for guest service, ensuring compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations related to alcohol service, and maintaining a clean and sanitary work environment. Bartenders must possess knowledge of various beers, wines, and spirits to provide knowledgeable recommendations and upsell products to guests appropriately.

The position requires bartenders to responsibly manage drink sizes, verify guest identification to ensure legal drinking age requirements are met, and communicate responsibly with guests, including the ability to cut off service when necessary. Effective problem-solving skills are necessary, especially when handling intoxicated or confrontational guests, with clear protocols to involve management or security when escalation occurs.

In addition to drink service, bartenders are tasked with maintaining and restocking bar supplies, managing the bar’s cash bank accurately, and upholding the highest standards of cleanliness and organization for their workstation and bar equipment. The role may also involve assistance with setting up and breaking down bar stations as well as organizing coolers.

Job Requirements

  • Six months or more experience bartending
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Accurate cash handling skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to be self-directed and work in a team-oriented environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and long hours

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Demonstrate ability to meet the company standard for excellence in the areas of guest service, interaction with co-workers, and uniform standards
  • Follow the bar pre-shift notes and bar menus and provide service as described
  • Serve alcoholic beverages following all proper procedures for serving alcoholic drinks, including state/federal regulations pertaining to the distribution of alcohol
  • Responsible for learning or having knowledge of various beer, wine varieties & spirits available and being able to learn to suggestively upsell products to guests
  • Pour drinks responsibly in accordance with company standards for serving size
  • Check the guest's ID in accordance with state/federal regulations to verify the minimum age requirement for the purchase of alcoholic beverages
  • Communicate a cut-off to a guest as required
  • Listening and responding to any customer requests or concerns
  • Bartenders are expected to de-escalate intoxicated guest situations. If a guest becomes confrontational, belligerent, or uses extreme profanity, the bartender may contact management or security as required
  • Contact a management member if unable to resolve or make a decision beyond the scope of standard decision-making
  • Request additional products or restock products as needed
  • Responsible for the issued bank at the bar
  • Maintains a clean and sanitary workstation at all times. Ensures that bar equipment is clean and well maintained
  • Other duties as assigned may include setting up and breaking down bar equipment as required and assisting with the organization of the cooler
