The Bartender role at OVG offers an exciting opportunity for individuals interested in working in a fun, fast-paced environment that supports part-time schedules and provides additional income with an hourly pay rate of $9.50, plus tips. This position plays a pivotal role in serving both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with company standards and legal regulations. The bartender is expected to embody professionalism and approachability while adapting to the demands of a high-energy venue environment. This role requires excellent attendance, flexibility in scheduling, and a readiness to work events as business needs evolve.
Bartenders at OVG operate primarily at Missouri State University facilities including Plaster Stadium, Great Southern Bank Arena, Juanita K. The responsibilities of the Bartender include mastering the company's bar menus and pre-shift notes, maintaining rigorous standards for cleanliness and equipment care, handling cash and product inventory responsibly, and ensuring compliance with all state and federal alcohol service laws. The bartender must remain attentive to guest needs, expertly manage alcohol consumption for customer safety, and be capable of de-escalating any difficult situations with intoxicated guests using good judgment and communication skills. The role demands strong interpersonal skills, the ability to work both independently and collaboratively, and a commitment to maintaining a positive guest experience in a dynamic work environment.
