Job Description
Oak View Group (OVG) is a renowned global leader in premium live entertainment infrastructure and services. Established in 2015, OVG has quickly grown to become a dominant force in the live event industry, managing a diverse portfolio that includes venue development, venue management, hospitality, and sponsorship sales. The company’s platform extends globally, supporting a collection of seven world-class venues and a client base that encompasses some of the most iconic arenas, stadiums, convention centers, music festivals, performing arts centers, and cultural institutions across four continents. OVG’s innovative approach and commitment to excellence have positioned it as a key player in shaping the future of live entertainment experiences worldwide.
The role of Bartender at OVG is an integral part of the company’s hospitality team, responsible for delivering exceptional beverage service to guests at live events and venues managed or owned by OVG. This position requires a personable and professional individual capable of thriving in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where excellent attendance and flexibility to work scheduled events are essential. The Bartender will serve a wide range of beverages, alcoholic and non-alcoholic, adhering strictly to company standards and all state and federal regulations regarding alcohol service.
The role is hourly, paying $9.50 plus tips, and primarily geared towards part-time employees. In addition to competitive pay, the position offers access to a 401(k) savings plan with matching contributions, enhancing the benefits package for part-time staff. Bartenders will find themselves at the heart of guest interaction—ensuring a warm, welcoming atmosphere while responsibly managing alcohol distribution. They will be expected to maintain pristine workstations, efficiently handle cash transactions, and uphold safety protocols to prevent over-service and underage drinking.
The job involves mastering a detailed knowledge of various beer, wine, and spirit selections to suggestively upsell to guests, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction and sales effectiveness. The Bartender must be skilled in checking IDs thoroughly to comply with legal drinking age requirements and adept at de-escalating potentially difficult situations involving intoxicated guests. Should any challenging behavior arise, the bartender is empowered to involve management or security to maintain a safe and pleasant environment.
Beyond serving drinks, the Bartender will assist in setting up and breaking down bar equipment and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the cooler and workstations. This role demands excellent communication skills, the ability to work independently as well as part of a team, and the flexibility to work nights, weekends, and possibly long shifts. Oak View Group thrives on diversity and inclusivity, believing that a diverse workforce fosters innovation, improves service quality, and enhances overall excellence. This commitment ensures that every employee, including bartenders, is valued and supported in their professional growth and contribution to the company vision.
