Job Description

Oak View Group (OVG) is a global leader in premium live entertainment infrastructure and services, establishing itself since 2015 as a formidable force in the realm of venue development and management. The company boasts comprehensive capabilities that span across venue management, hospitality services, and sponsorship sales. OVG owns and operates a distinguished portfolio of seven world-class venues and serves an elite client roster that includes some of the most iconic arenas, stadiums, convention centers, music festivals, performing arts centers, and cultural institutions across four continents. This vast network underlines OVG's prominence and influence within the live entertainment industry worldwide.

The Donald L. Tucker Civic Center is one of the flagship venues managed by OVG, featuring an impressive 12,500-seat arena, 34 luxury suites, 476 club seats, and over 54,000 square feet of meeting and exhibition space. Known for its dynamic and electrifying atmosphere, the arena is home to Florida State Men’s and Women’s basketball teams and is frequently utilized for a variety of events including concerts, trade shows, large catered functions, receptions, religious services, and classes. Its arena view restaurant, the Spotlight Grille, adds an element of premier hospitality to the venue’s multifaceted offerings.

The Bartender position at OVG is instrumental in delivering premium customer service through the expert preparation and service of all beverages—both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. This role demands a high level of professionalism, a personable demeanor, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. Bartenders at OVG must uphold strict compliance with state and federal regulations regarding alcohol service, including age verification and responsible pouring. The position provides a competitive hourly wage of $15.50 and is tip eligible, making it an attractive option for individuals seeking both monetary earnings and experiential growth within the hospitality and live entertainment industry.

As a Bartender, employees are expected to maintain excellent attendance and flexibility, being available to work scheduled events as needed by the business. Duties extend beyond drink service to maintaining a clean and sanitary workstation, properly handling cash and revenue using POS systems, and fostering a welcoming environment that prioritizes guest satisfaction and safety. Bartenders also play a role in conflict de-escalation, communicating with management and security if necessary, ensuring that all interactions uphold the company’s standard for excellence.

OVG values inclusivity and diversity, recognizing that a diverse team enriches innovation, enhances service quality, and elevates company excellence. The company is steadfast in its commitment to equal employment opportunity and upholding a workplace free from discrimination based on any legally protected status. Part-time positions, including this Bartender role, are also offered benefits such as a 401(k) Savings Plan and 401(k) matching, underscoring OVG’s dedication to the well-being and financial security of its employees.

Overall, working as a Bartender at Oak View Group's Donald L. Tucker Civic Center offers a unique opportunity to join a global leader in live entertainment while honing valuable skills in hospitality and customer service in a vibrant, multifaceted venue setting.
