Shaner Hotels has an amazing opportunity at our 205 room Buffalo Marriott LECOM HARBORCENTER. Located off I-190 in downtown Buffalo's Canalside Entertainment District, the Buffalo Marriott LECOM HARBORCENTER is attached to Key Bank Center, the home of the NHL Buffalo Sabres. Niagara Falls, a natural wonder of the world, is just a short drive away. This hotel features modern rooms, elegant meeting space and a seventh-floor restaurant and bar offering stunning views of Lake Erie and the Buffalo skyline.

We are currently seeking dedicated individuals for the Food and Beverage Department on a full-time and part-time basis. This dynamic role involves ensuring the smooth operation of daily tasks while maintaining high standards of quality and safety in line with Shaner, Marriott, and franchise guidelines. The position demands flexibility in scheduling, including weekends, holidays, and varied shift patterns, to meet the needs of our busy hotel environment. You will be responsible for taking orders, preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, along with light meals to our guests courteously and efficiently.

Additionally, maintaining stock, supplies, cleanliness of the outlet, and equipment are vital to ensure a pristine dining experience. You will also handle guest-related issues, liaise with the General Manager, Department Managers, Supervisors, and the entire staff, ensuring seamless communication across teams. This role requires an individual who values compliance, hospitality excellence, and teamwork, contributing significantly to an exceptional guest experience. Compensation for this position starts at $10.70 per hour plus tips, with opportunities for both full-time and part-time employment. Job Requirements

  • Minimum one year of experience in the restaurant and food and beverage field
  • Minimum state age requirement to serve alcoholic beverages
  • High school graduate or equivalent some college preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests management and co-workers
  • ServSafe or food safety training a plus
  • Alcohol awareness training such as TIPS
  • Familiarity with food and beverage cost controls
  • Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations accurately
  • Bilingual English Spanish a plus
  • Knowledge of local activities and attractions appropriate for clientele

Job Duties

  • Be available to work a flexible schedule including weekends holidays and varied shifts
  • Ensure compliance with and completion of all daily operational procedures by the Food and Beverage Department
  • Maintain food and beverage safety and quality based on hotel Shaner and Franchise specifications
  • Maintain and abide by standards and procedures for operations and safe working conditions in the department
  • Respond and handle guest related issues pertaining to the department
  • Ensure communication with General Manager all other Department Managers Supervisors and Staff
  • Take orders prepare and serve alcoholic non-alcoholic beverages and light meals to guests courteously and efficiently according to hotel specifications
  • Maintain stock supplies and cleanliness of outlet and equipment
  • Perform other duties as assigned
